Hey all, I’ve recently started converting my fleet over to Kadee, lowering the cars etc and I got a Weaver Trailer Train flatcar off eBay to go along with my collection. It’s a well built car but has a small cylinder that screws to the deck of the flatcar itself. No idea what it’s for. Can anyone shed some light? Hope this is the right forum page. There’s just one, the other side doesn’t have this.

I’m no expert, but I believe the vertical cylinder is supposed to represent the “hitching post” for the road trailer. Trailer Train flats were one of the first attempts at putting road truck trailers right onto flat cars; this evolved into the container system we all know and love today…
I appreciate it. The cylinder has been removed and I will be doing a custom load of some type on the car.
