Hi All!

I have a "Weaver G1737LP PRR BP-20 A/B Combination Set BRASS w/Sound - 3 Rail" loco set and am having an operating issue. This as you can see from the name that is an A/B unit set. The B unit runs fine. Stars up slowly and accelerates normally. The A unit, however, starts running like the B unit for a few seconds then slows down dramatically and continues to run at this slow speed even when I have it running  at full throttle. Running with a ZW L transformer. Any ideas on how to get this unit running normally? Is there a "Weaver" factory reset that I can perform. I have a similar problem with an MTH loco but that's for another post. Please see the attached photo above of the A/B unit in question.

Thanks!

Michael

check the motors right after it slows down to a crawl, to hot to touch then the motors are burning up. do a tmcc factory reset on the A unit to see if that fixed it. If the motors are fine to touch and the factory reset didn't work, reset both A & B then. If that didn't work, then call a good tmcc repair shop.

Thanks so much for the reply. Will check the motors for excessive heat. How would I do a tmcc factory reset? Forgive my ignorance but what does tmcc stand for?

I imagine tmcc stands for "Trainmaster Command Control." I'm not currently using TMCC or DCC. Just a ZW L transformer.

Also, the motors don't seem to be producing excessive heat.
