NO, not quite.

I own a QC1080LP, the information I am providing is based on photos of the G1094LP.  Both are "moderately"  hard to come by in the Weaver Brass World.  The 1094 generally commands a higher price due to differences.

Yes the 1094 has TMCC the 1080 has QCI electronics not sure about motors used in each, so updated electronics is correct.  Also they were available in 3R with (-LP) and without sound (-L),  2R (-S).

The 1080 is based on the Prototype "as built".  The 1094 has the Mars light so represents 1942 and later.

Also the 1094 is generally painted more "correctly", and has some additional small details.  I wish I had understood the differences when I purchased mine, so good you asked.

The strangest anomaly is on the 1080 the fins (top center headlight area) are all black, should have been silver highlighted.  On the 1094 they are highlighted, but should not have been.  Likewise the fin spacing is also "reversed" vs the prototype.  BTW using Jim Scribbins "The Hiawatha Story" for Prototype Information.

Hope this helps you and others!

Jim, have you had any problems with your 1080 ?  I run my engines and if they have similar performances I will continue to look for the 1080 . Thanks for your feedback. Don

The saddest part for me is I Do NOT have a layout "yet".  My intention was NOT to become a collector, however I have found it easier thus far to buy equipment than to build a layout.  Sorry I can't give you an answer.  Have only tested it on my test track.

BTW I model approx 1950, so as stated, if I knew the differences, probably would have held out for the 1094.  The 1080 though, without the Mars light, is more aesthetically pleasing.

I think you might be aware of this, but want to mention that Weaver also made the 1935 Hiawatha #1 & #2 (Atlantic).
