Does anyone know: I recently purchased some Weaver Northern Pacific Share in the Freedom boxcars that are numbered: 31226, 31338 and 31500, HOW MANY DIFFERENT NUMBERS WERE THESE CARS MADE IN?

I think Weaver normally ran 4 Road #'s in boxcars/tanks/gondolas and 12 in hoppers, I may be wrong.
John, if those cars are Weaver custom runs then three car numbers was typical. Does your question relate to the Weaver cars or to the real NP cars?
Would Weaver had used the same numbers over and over again if they issued the car years later........Paul
Custom run cars done by Weaver, were usually done in three numbers. I suggest you call Petersen Supply Co. and ask them about these cars. Andy, has a book he put together with Weaver car numbers. Their phone number is 503-246-3106.

The Weaver cars were numbered NP 31138, 31226 and 31500. The real NP savings bond cars were in the 31,000 series but were 50 footers.
Perhaps MTH can put the scheme on their Premier PS-1 50' box cars for a correct length box car.
