I just serviced a Weaver Lehigh Valley John Wilkes 4-6-2 for a customer.

The tender is missing the one front step and the other is bent and will probably break off.  It appears they were soldered/glued on.  They are close in appearance to Lionel's 2426 steps.  Does anyone have any available, or know of a source?  Or something closer than the 2426 steps?

Thanks.DSC04223

Well, this topic has come up again and again. With more and more Weaver brass locomotives  coming on the used market, we find the tender steps broken or missing. I have given up on the used parts guys that bought the Weaver parts; no website, non working website and no contact. Soooooooo I’’m hoping that some really sharp computer guy has made a 3D CAD file of the scanned tender steps. John and I can’t be the only folks with this problem. These old Weaver brass locomotives are just beautiful, they run great and are nicely priced. Anyone out there that could help us?

Yes, ….I’ve fixed some of these……use the front steps from the Prewar 700E or equivalent, Contact Bill @ S&W or Jeff Kane for inexpensive reproduction versions…..the 700E steps actually look better than stock, drill and tap for a 2-56 screw, and voila!…Woops,….actually the tender part numbers would begin with 700T ….
