Was there anymore news on whether or not Weaver would be up to making a Western Maryland Potomac engine? I thought there was a forum thread awhile on the subject.

At the moment I have not seen anything from Weaver stating they are making this locomotive but I recall someone on the forum seeing how much interest there would be for Weaver to produce this locomotive.

This is the link for Weaver Models. You can ask, but last I heard, there won't be any locos for a while; parts availability and production facility issues.

I ask Weaver at York about the Boston and Maine 3713 models. At the time there were 20 still on the shelf.

Weaver has made some really nice locomotives. My favorite is the New Haven I-4. I think the B&M you're referring to is the one I did the presentation on when I filled in for Paul Fischer who was unable to make it. Another very nice engine. Unfortunately, whatever is on the shelf is it for the time being. I wish I could afford one.

So which model train manufacture has produced a 4-8-4 locomotive that I can modify/paint for the Western Maryland railroad?

Not one in 3-Rail as yet. There was a SPECTACULAR O-Scale model made in 2-Rail some years ago, but they seem to sell for something like $5000.
