a simple trip downstairs led to a major project of moving tracks, industries, and the towns have been totally devastated! As of an hour ago, I have the three mainlines back in working order, three of the industries relocated, as well as the passenger station. The hospital roof is temporarily being used as a parking lot,the motel has a switch tower on it's roof, and the train yard is a disaster!
and this is why I like my painted green plywood.

I spent an afternoon in Romulus, MI and caught a bunch of trains. The Wabash was on fire today
Freshly painted CP unit. My iPhone acted up and wan't able to take a pic from the normal angle
CSX freight with 2 CP units. The lead unit was in the movie 'Unstoppable'. The yellow plow stripes are a giveaway
One of my favorite photos. In the town of Beawslaiw, it's 1945 and Jess Dawson returns home from the Pacific War to meet his girl for the first time in 3 years. They have a date at Fred and Red's Cafe. After his discharge, Andy will go back to his old job with the Brisbane & Bushong RR.

Incredible turntable!! I'd surmise that is a Millhouse River Studio? How many inches is that?
Yep that is the 34" Millhouse River Studio version.
looks pretty good to me Don. That's the great thing about doing it yourself, if you don't like the results you can redo it again.
Hear is a video I took while leaving to go home. This is the only way I know how to post it. If you know let me know

What a tremendous classic toy train layout. Green painted plywood, tubular track, controls on the edge, plasticville galore! Brings back a lot of nice memories! Thanks for sharing.

wow! glad you like it Sam!
I'm glad you're making progress there, Dave. Looking good. Hang in there!

I hadn't noticed the dropbox color was off but I did notice the logo was way too modern.
And Rail;
I thought it looked pretty good from a weathered part point of view.
Nice to see someone else doing D&RG. I Grew up out there so that's my preferred RR.
Nice photo
I don't know if it is that it is cold outside or what, but I've been back down in the basement lately and started working again on my 0-72 elevated line. My goal is to have the two opposite walls on "land" with an elevated PRR style line in between. Eventually I would like to have that elevated line supported by a reasonable steel latticed trestle...

Bob, thank you so much for the sanity check! Collecting stuff for a layout to primarily cover the era from 46 to 57 (end of steam/first gen diesels) I have looked for olive drab mail boxes. I know this is what I recalled from my first decade or so one this little blue orb. I tried some quick searches to verify my recollections with no joy. So concluded memories must be clouded.
But this proves my memories of dropping letters into olive drab mail boxes. Too bad no manufacturer does not make the three wheel scooter/trucks used for delivery.
Thanks again for sanity/reality check. I am looking at the USPS site you referenced for other details. Will just have to paint some boxes olive drab. But not all based on design feature of intended build.

Am I the ONLY guy here who's eyes never got far enough from the blonde to nit-pic a mailbox?!?!? Put Verdana Turbine in front of it and forget it! Awesome scene!
Does anyone make a Viagra rail car? Maybe we could sell some in this forum?
