I'm early once again for WEEKEND PHOTO FUN!!
I have continued working on the expansion into the next room for my tinplate layout at the Roanoke Valley Model Railroad Club.

This room is roughly 20 inches higher than the room the new half of the layout is in.

If the track doesn't connect it's not one large layout. This is going to create a neat opportunity for some elevated track going from one room to the other.

That means cutting holes in the wall.

Slight issue here with the unexpected stud.

Started early eh? Okay, that's a great thing. Like what I'm seeing(as usual).

Well, since I got something yesterday, why not. Yesterday arriving from Mr. Muffin's is the custom run of #5415 New York Central J3a Hudson with the PT Tender. I took a couple of pictures yesterday which I popped on the Mr. Muffin's topics, and I'll be happy to share here as well. I love this engine as most know, Hudson's are my favorite engines.

I was surprised he answered my question without me actually asking him, so awesome he did.

In some pictures the boiler front looks lighter, others looks darker. I love this engine either way. I'll have to get a carpet run in on Saturday(as I should have time then) to give the whistle a good blow and to see how she sounds. Enjoy, I know I am and will always.

Dave....... it looks gorgeous.......enjoy it!

Off to a good start this week, I like what I've seen so far.  Wow, Walt, all I can say, is you must have one heck of an understanding  wife.  Mine would have already told me to get it cleaned up or put it back in the boxes and stow it and mine would never be as big as what you always have down.  Mine wife would never stand for that.   I gave up long time ago wanting to put some of my trains down at Christmas, this was pre-O Gauge days.  Maybe I'll try next year and see what happened, hopefully we'll be in our new home by then.  HO HO HOOO!!!!

Never met Walt Rapp, but every year by way of him showing pics of his yearly Christmas layout, I get inspired to try and put together

the ol'  RealTrax (version 1) and run trains. This year with twin grandsons (ok, they are just 2 months old...why not influence them) I better get going20191027_10503920191027_10505320191031_15342120191031_15342120191116_16014220191118_171733. So, here is what I've done so far..........

Creating 2019 Christmas layout memories

Last week I showed images of how my entire house, every room, is in disarray with boxes and such.  I have been wiring lately.

RATS' NEST, what's that?

Always look forward to your new layouts Walt! You are way braver than me!!

Thanks BobbyD!  Not "brave" in MANY people's opinion.  Most people that visit can't believe I tear it down and rebuild it each year.  Maybe they don't understand using a hobby as a favorite pasttime.

Walt, sorry, I had no idea you weren't married, I was just razing you.  Please forgive me if I struck a sensitive nerve.  I meant no disrespect.

JEM: not bothered by it in the least.  I'm not sensitive to it at all.  But thanks

As we are having Christmas at my daughter's house this year I wanted to put a Christmas village on cotton on our large dining room table. Inaugural run of the post-war American flyer I bought at York.  Mrs. 'Ski nixed that idea real quick!

I can't complain too much, after all she has put up with me for over 45 years.

Oh well, at least I'll still have pre-war Standard gauge under the tree, and there is always O gauge Warrenville in the basement.
