It's time for WEEKEND PHOTO FUN!!
This past week I finished up the Christmas "Frozen" layout at the VMT.
This weekend is the Candy Cane Express at the Virginia Museum of Transportation. I will be running the multi-gauge layout in the basement.

Scott sure up and at it very early today and I thought I was the only one up and playing with trains at this hour.
Thank you, Scott for starting this each week......this has been a great 2 weeks for me, the modular group has been very busy....a show in Hanover with the small layout and family together at Thanksgiving. That was followed by the annual train show at the Science Museum of Virginia. To cap it off, I always take Weds-Friday off this week.......being off this time of year really makes me yearn for retirement!
I have a few neat things to share......I will separate them up.
My daughter sent this picture while she was jogging along the High Line on the West side of Manhattan.....

Next......I was in the office Monday and Tuesday and I received this really neat present from a patient.....a set of C&O playing cards from 1967.....

Lastly, worked on the modular layout at the Great Big GreenHouse getting ready for our 8 weekend run....
This early issue PS2 steam is a great smoker!
Most of the time, I was repairing ballast in the yard....
Here is a night shot of the TMB Club Main Street. Its one of the first things our guests see when entering the train room. BTW if you are on Long Island We have an open House Dec 8/9 from 11am to 4pm. Last weekend we had over 2,000 visitors!!!

No progress to report this week. Just ran some trains 
2025 leading 1949 Deluxe Pullman set 1430WS - 
1949 Deluxe Pullman set 1430WS w/ a 2025 meets a 2065 on the point of a freight at the 156 platform -
1430WS pulls into the 132 station -
Did make one change -the No. 30 water tower had to be replaced due to a derailment which knocked it to the floor. ( kids running a 681 at 18V will do that!! The 681 was fine however!) I selected the AF 772 water tower as a replacement. A pair of B&O RDCs roll past the new 772 -

Framed w/ a 20mm lens, NS SD70M 2590 leads eastbound 38Q through LIlly, PA on the famed west slope of the Pittsburgh Line -
It may be just a yard transfer, but SD40-2s on the point of an intermodal in 2018 is cool! A pair of NS SD40-2s are in charge of stack transfer from Whitaker Yard as they head northbound through Austell, GA. NS 3584 is the highest numbered NS SD40-2 on the roster & was originally built as UP 3801 - 
Ex Conrail B40-8 5086 is working for it's 3rd owner at the Pickens Railway as it pulls into the yard in Anderson, SC - 
UP SD70ACe 8646 leads 234 through Elliston, VA on the Christiansburg District w/ some Fall colors on display. 
While the classic NW signals may be gone, the action continues as NS ET44AC 3678 shoves 194 up Elkhorn grade.

NS rebuild AC44C6M 4038 (ex NS D9-40C 8819) leads 154 under the Avon signals in Gastonia, NC on the Piedmont Division. 
Ex Southern/NS high hood GP38, now working for the L&C, heads through Richburg, SC w/ the daily local.
1920 built Everett Railroad 11 leads one of the weekend pumpkin patch special runs outside of Hollidaysburg, PA 
"...just ran some trains." Good job Christopher, that's what it's all about, enjoying what we've created, not always worrying about what else we need to do to it.
I added the Woodland Scenics Water Tower to the layout this week. I hope you like the Arttista figures I added.

River City 3 Railers has welcomed numerous OGR Forum members visiting our displays. While unloading at the GBGH, I noticed something that made me wonder if SIRT had been by for a visit...
Amazingly believable weathering! Or, maybe just in need of a bath!

What can I say, it was my grandkids first trailer!
A couple of stills from the other evening. Sounds are terrific in this one with a full-throated horn unlike the earlier RS units that I have. They all have great engine sounds however with a nod to the older units for the 'laborious' shutdown sequence!

When I glanced at the photo quickly, I was struck by how much the oil stains on the centers of the ties causes the prototype trackage to resemble Lionel Super O. This is particularly true along the upper right of the photo.

I haven't posted on here for quite a few weeks. Still busy working on the town of Port Royal. The town is being built on a piece of 2 inch thick pink foam which will be dropped into the layout. Right now, it's sitting in my workshop. Here's a shot with the buildings pretty much finished, but there is still a LONG way to go, such as weathering the streets, installing utility poles, ground cover, street signs, people, etc., etc. But this will give you an idea of the progress I've made on the town...
