Here are some photos of O gauge action taken on the G&O garden railroad last weekend:

This is the San Leandro Depot that was saved from the wrecking ball by the San Leandro Historical Railway Society.  The SLHRS moved it into a city park.  The Depot houses a large HO layout and the SLHRS railroad museum.

A K-Line Porter pulls a K-Line ore train on the children's layout.  This train is being run by kids.  The green and orange station is painted in the G&O colors.

This is Lionel Snoopy hand car.

A Lionel Hogwarts Express is about to stop at the station on the children's layout.

Here are a few Boy and Cub Scouts running trains.

The girls were more interested in running the trains than the boy.

6

The little fellow had trouble with the throttles but quickly became an expert whistle blower using the MRC sound system.

An SP intermodal train rounds the curve at the base of Coupler Mountain.

The engine crosses Real Rail Bridge.

A better view of the train.

Everyone loves train watching.  The engine is a MTG G gauge Triplex crossing the Norris Falls trestle.

If/when I get myself another loving and faithful companion in another year or so (still dealing with the loss of my beloved Pepper), and if it's a male, I may be tempted to steal your pooch's name.  It would be very appropriate, I think!  Your "Loco" is a genuine cutie!

The only train picture I took this week... Metro Green Line on the 105 in Hawthorne CA

Enroute to engage in my other transportation hobby... standing under 747's and A380's landing at LAX.  This is Korean Air Flight 17 A380 arriving from Seoul.

I've seen the White Castle on some layouts... has anyone modeled an In-N-Out?  I'd like to do this one at LAX.

Allan,

Feel free to share the name when the time comes. Eventhough our Loco is a girl, I thought it was a bit unique and train related so we went with it. Plus when she is running around like crazy during one of her puppy moments, the name can take on a whole new meaning.

Gotta love Kirk

The workers at the Morrison Door factory are getting excited as the Milwaukee Road has completed laying a siding up to their factory.  The local is switching cars on a neighboring siding and they expect to be next.  They are hurrying to finish loading out a semi that was borrowed from a Hershey Chocolate distributor so they that will be ready to load out their first box car.

Sure, that'll work just as well.  I didn't check the "undercarriage" of your Loco--not visible in the photos.  Chances are I'll get another female, but I'm not going to be too choosy since I plan/hope to get a rescue dog this next time around.

That's the only way to go Allen.  I have 2 rescued wiener dogs and they seem to appreciate a good home.  Of course, I spoil my doxie's a little.  Good luck on finding another companion and friend.

Hi Christopher:

It is so neat that you can enjoy trains with your lil' cutie.

Please: Protect her little ears.  My ears ring constantly (tinnitus) from ear damage, and trains are partly to blame.  The air horns are brutal (up to 130db) and will damage hearing. I have no doubt whatsoever that you're crazy about her, but perhaps you haven't thought of the consequences of such loud things as trains.

Enjoy!

Loco is our first rescue. So far she's an amazing dog.
