Had something interesting happen this afternoon. We were shutting down at the club and a couple dropped by and gave us a Marx train set. Well, despite some of us being 3-rail would-be rivet-counters, we have a weakness for dead/dying post-war. We've literally dropped what we're doing to take a crack at fixing post-war engines. Go figure.
So, while the couple was looking over the layout, Jack field-stripped the locomotive and he and Dave O'Connor removed a bunch of caked on tar-like grease mixed with dead bugs, lint, and dirt and got the mechanism running. Here are a few photos.
