Ron is that the MTH or Williams BL2?
Hard to beat the BL-2 Ron! I really like the demonstrator colors, but I'm an old Fireball fan myself. MTH did a nice job on them.
I took a late train into the city this week and was treated to a close up run by of the new Siemens Charger. These locos run super quiet and I like how modern they look. Enjoy!
Pat, Excellent!!! Yes I did know the Free State RR ran a BL2! Looking good!!
Lou, Here it is! WM BL2 #82 still runs in West Virginia.

I splurged this week and purchased a few things I've wanted for a long time now. I ended up with the Lionel TMCC N&W 611 as well as the Pocahontas cars out of the newer legacy 611 set. Money didn't allow for me to grab a Legacy set, and I don't mind the older models as it will mostly be a display locomotive aside from the occasional run when the train group sets up for local shows. The 611 is by far one of my favorite locomotives, so it's about time I had a model of it.

Lou;
I’m by no means an expert, but I believe the Stourbridge Line in the Poconos (Hawley - Honesdale), still runs some excursions with one. I couldn’t fine any definitive info on their website (https://www.thestourbridgeline.net/home.html), but here is a pic of their main motive power:

Mark, seeing all the posts from you guys with your BL's I wanted one. But none of my favorite RR's had them. But when I saw the demonstrator, can run with any of my favorites as they were checking it out.
Ron
My Bl Florida East Coast not sure if they had one but still bright & cheerful.

Ron, I think the Demonstrator is one of the best paint schemes out there. You sure couldn't go wrong!
Thank you Bob for posting the video of the #82!!

Mark it is thanks to you that I got this great piece. About a year ago when seeing everybody's BL-2's I lamented none of my favorite Roads used/had them. You pointed out that MTH had this Demonstrator. MTH was offering to MTHRRC members for $379.95 vs. reg price of $499.95 MSRP. Had my local toy train shop check into it. He called MTH and got one coming.
When it arrived found out was in fact getting it at the special price. So am very thankful that you pointed this out to me.
Thanks again,
Ron
Just arrived yesterday: Railking UP POW car, along with Southern and Wabash cabooses. (Like I really need ANOTHER Southern caboose!)

HI Scott
How much do those weigh? Not your average model at all!

I guess around 18 pounds..The Brute, which was the largest Standard Gauge that MTH ever made had a shipping weight of 48 pounds. My guess is that the metal and wood cage they shipped it in weighted was about 8 pounds. So on the small end a couple of pounds to the largest at 40 pounds. Carrying those out of the museum's basement at the end of the night they sure feel heavier than that.

Thanks to you, Johan, and the rest of the gang for the full scale BL2 information. And yes Pat, that multi chime horn sounds great.
So now that tune from the TM video plays in my head.....
One more train, one more train, all I ever need is just one more train.

Another must have for us Pennsy fans. I bought the original MTH PS version in 5-stripe passenger livery. I recall running these on a temporary layout in living room with smoke on. All the smoke detectors in the house triggered in short order.
Have since up graded to PS-2 by buying the "Demo" PS-2 version from a forum member and trading the bodies etc. out.

Yes, to my knowledge there is a BL2 owned by the Saratoga and North Creek Railroad in upstate NY and the one I'm familiar with is the Western Maryland #81, which is in operation for the Durbin And Greenbrier Railroad in West Virginia.
Everyone talking about BL2s reminds me of that video from 2012.
