Well, I didn't do anything much that resembles railroading other than cleaning. What I did was organize nearly all of my train boxes down to just two rooms. One is unfortunately the room where I want to build my wider curved radius layout to run everything that needs O54-O72 curves, but also the spare room in the back of the house where I have most of my engines currently. I made sure to keep separate some of the engines that I want to send out for upgrades, particularly my TMCC Commodore Vanderbilts. I can get at those to a lot easier now, they were sort of out of the way buried among some of the conventional items I have(about 6 engines I think), mostly diesel engines.
Downstairs is clear of nearly everything save the other items for upgrades in the future. I have down there the newly acquired MTH New York Central Niagara(Proto 2), 18064 Lionel L3 Mohawk which I did upgrade, but going to send over to Pat to get a motor change out as well as some other things, Lionel 28084 Dreyfuss Hudson, Weaver Canadian Pacific Royal Hudson, MTH 20-3128-1 A2 Berkshire(New York Central System), and debating upgrading the 50th Anniversary Hudson from 31705 set.
Granted all the upgrades to be had are waiting for the call or me to arrange them. I haven't contacted people on a few of these, but figured that some of this will start to go into the works when I get back a few things that are already out there to be upgraded. Cleaning today was like one of those tasks your parents asked you to do when you were a kid. You don't know where to start until you finally pick up something and go with it. That was pretty much how it started. I had a bit of a delay as my brother and I had to go out on the roof to fix something out there as well, before I came in to get a little bite to eat(grapes).
Before I knew it, I had everything in the two rooms(save the engines downstairs mentioned above), and it was time to vacuum. Cleaned all that up nicely as stuff had been sitting for a while, and the dust needed to go. I also vacuumed the little layout downstairs while I was at it. The last thing I did after clean up was cook dinner which was New York Strip Steak, can't ask for anything more on such a busy day. I figure next weekend I can sort through the boxes in the layout room(or what will be the layout room) which I won't be needing to use as they are O27 cars, switches and such. Once all those are clear, that will free up some space. All those boxes of cars, switches and such will be going to what would be termed as permanent space above the kitchen. See what comes next weekend then, won't we.
