a small historic moment on my road today. this is the first time all three green 2400s have been on the rail. I scored a pair of trucks for the Chatham I'm rebuilding. still need one or two parts and a little paint though.not a pristine set by any means, although I missed a really nice set locally.

and I finally got some paint on my Vanderbilt tender. I think I'm going to do something different for decals though. I like the NYC, but it looks like there should be something on the coal bunker.

611 arriving in Manassas, Va this Morning for a run  to Front Royal, about 55 miles west. We rode the morning trip and stopped to get a run by on the way home. We were in basic coach, about 5 cars from the engine. What was great was we easily heard the whistle, chugging, etc and saw the engine tons of times, unlike the folks at the back of the train.

Peter

You mean you don't use those in your practice?

Don

I forgot to mention, happy birthday!.

Today I took my trains to the 9th annual Haverford Heritage Festival.  Its why I was working on updating those very lightweight modules.

Here are some pics.

There was a crowd around the layout from 1 hour before opening until 20 minutes after closing!

It was fun to run four loops of trains for a day and watch the kids and adults faces!

Cheap camera indeed, it didn't even get the middle rail! Those are nice photos.

Happy Birthday, very nice tools.

Had a similar kit. Started out with the vacuum, worked up to the flash light, then the drill, then had refresher training before the saws. Am now an expert at making wood too short

Happy Birthday Peter.

BillP : I'm glad your modules worked out as planned....they look great!  The continual crowds at the festival must have been total payback for all the hard work.

Keeping with the outdoor theme, I'll add these since they were taken yesterday.  Thanks to forum member Serge the Commodore now has a fuller consist of heavyweights to pull.  Lionel, Weaver, K-Line and MTH represented here.

I'm only beginning to have fun on the new patio this year.  Ample space for long drags and nobody yelling, "turn off that smoke!"
