A 2017 Christmas Layout memory
Even though it's HO sized, since a good friend gave the radio station building to me I use it. Notice the man approaching it - things don't look too out of scale. Had it by the airport
Finally got a 1225, this is the newest Lionel version. Depending on ambition, I may get it set up for a scale coupler and weather it.
It was so beautiful yesterday, I went out to the (former) Middle Division to shoot some photos. I honestly concentrated more on the towns and scenery for modeling purposes, but got this shot of an eastbound tank train slamming by the signals at the south end of Newport, PA:
Nice photo neal!
This week's entry: an MP54 full of commuters going home passes an industrial part of town
Can someone tell me why my photos that I've posted on here the past few weeks are blurred? Please look at my post just ahead of John Sethian's. I both pasted one in AND uploaded one as an attachment. If you click on the small pictures at the bottom of the post, they are sharp and in focus but when I put it in the body of the message, they're blurred. Have only seen this happen the past few weeks. Anyone know what's going on?

It looks like the picture that is embedded is bigger than the one that is attached (in terms of size), so it looks blurry because it is getting pixelated (there are not enough pixels to fill out the space, so they are enlarged which makes the picture blurry).

Yeah, for whatever reason Neal your embedded image is being stretched to fit the text area, unlike John's which retain their original dimensions.
Guys, thanks for the input on the photos. What you said is what I figured too, but the first time I posted the the attached version photo in the body of the post, it came out blurred, just like the one i I copied and pasted. I just went back and put it in the body of the post for a second time, and it is sharp. Go figure. FYI, it was shot at high resolution.
Anyhow, thanks!
The net does not like photos over about 2000 wide.....
Neal
For what its worth, I always reduce limit my images to 2000 pixels wide at 300 dpi. This turns out to be about 8MB. That works for me. But it may or may not be what is contributing to your blurriness
John
VERY COOL photo DOC !!!
This arrived today a unused & unmarked Penn Ps2 version with just the flat broken as noted in the sale. Ideas please on a glue to repair please. James
I really don't think you will have much luck gluing that.
For the flat....I'd start with a solvent glue like Plastruct made for ABS. After dry I'd use a few short plastic strips (underside) and a 5 minute epoxy to re-enforce the joint. I've fixed worse....it is save-able!!
Nice set up Alex! Metal beats plastic all day long.

Norm, I can't wait to see what it'll look like when you're done with it.
Big fan of your videos on YouTube as well! If there was ever a layout that by example could motivate me into 3 rail, it'd be yours.
Worked on the temporary layout so I could get some trains running for my granddaughter. Also first time ever with the MTH WiFi App and first ever run on my S1 that I acquired when it first came out before the move.
