8000 Horsepower!!!!!

 

In showcasing our affiliation with the parent company (Santa Fe) we have been trading/acquiring more motive power in the signature Warbonnet scheme. Here are two PA/PB No 2000 sets that are 'lashed-up' into an ABBA. Man, they are long!

Due to budget constraints, the company will probably be selling the extra B and we'll run her as the customary ABA...

The teepees and the cactus help create an unusual and rugged scene. Those MTH woodside passenger cars are some of my personal favorites.

c. sam - That SF PA looks great next to the viaduct. I like it better than the F series.

I LOVE that parking garage and its immediate neighborhood! It reminds me of one in Pittsburgh, PA I used several decades ago, just down the street from Gimbels Dept. Store. I esp. like that the cars exit on a slightly sloped ramp, which seems a very clever touch and detail, to me, Alan.

Frank...I love the first picture because it really takes me back to a time when we would visit my Grandfather and sit in his backyard....even those chairs you have in the scene were the same color and were made of that woven plastic that was common in those days....thanks for the post!!

Frank (Moonson), you've done it again, the first pic, that lovely little back yard, glowing in your world of grime, I think not having anyone seated there fires the imagination too. Don, stunning stuff, love the Lionel shop.

Thanks, Dave, and thank you to Alan (leavingtracks,) too, for the comments and encouragement about that backyard scene. I am intrigued to get any responses at all about it because it was an experiment, actually, crafting a vignette w/out any human or animal figures present. I usually feel a scene is complete when people are present, doing this-n-that, for example, to complete the narrative, but somehow I needed that yard to be empty. Some places speak volumes by their vacancy, don't they.

 

Well, it's all fun and just messin' around w/ a personal interpretation of the world around us, isn't it.
Thanks again. I am gratified to hear from you, both, about that scene.

It's someone's little slice of heaven, a retreat from the dreary, grimy world that surrounds them. The carefully tended flower bed too adds to the narrative. It doesn't matter if a scene evokes a serious thought or something whimsical like Jim Policastro's Tesla power company and homies, these are what adds another dimension to our little created worlds. It's this imagining that links us back to our childhoods, and those great memories of fantasies. We have more to thank you for Frank, and others who create these scenes.
