Christopher,

If you have the book to which I refer in the post, the photos show the platform as being directly across the tracks from the existing station.  I can't say that I've really gone looking for evidence of the foundation, but in just looking at the area from across the tracks, I've never noticed any remnants of the platform. I didn't want to scan and post the photos from the book due to copyright issues, but if you have or can access the book, you see all of this for yourself.

BTW, my son Steven loves modern NS power, and will love your photos above of the NS units.  He is thrilled with the new Lionel SD-60-E's, and I'm sure we will be ordering some for the layout.  The PRR GP-9's with roof antennas are more my speed...

Neal and Christopher,

The shed was across fron the station and went south a few feet. on the north side towards the end it had a mail pick up. The platforn contuned with a set of steps that went under the first arch. There were three arches and the bulls eye , plus the  six arch bridge.

Did some painting & other work that you really can't see in photos this week. One thing that is noticeable would be the ground covering I put down on some parts. I had some left over roof shingles & put some down to just it some texture till I get around to doing ballast & ground cover. I also cut in one of the crossovers.

Here's a mainline meet -

worked a little on the engine terminal - added an old tank car body & as a fuel tank & put up a backdrop & painted it

westbound ethanol w/ some Heritage leading-

picked up a non powered unit to run w/ my other Geeps on the locals -

NS ES44DC 7632 leads Jersey bound 18N over the Harrisburg Line in Hummelstown, PA

CSAO MA1 heads back to Manville yard w/ a rebuilt ex CR GP38 on the point in Piscataway, NJ . NS 5637 is ex NS GP38 2925, ex CR/PC 7873

NS SD90MAC 7279 (ex UP 3510, 8051) leads 22V through central NJ on the Lehigh Line-

Also thought this was appropriate to post today. As we all enjoy our trains, let's take a minute to thank all our first responders & remember those who gave their lives on 9/11

Great shots Chris, I'm really hoping to see an SD90 leading before they get rebuilt... I've seen a bunch, but I only captured video of one.

Lee,

Tell us about the three arches and the bulls eye

Correction there was four. One at north side of station at end of platform, One aprox.two blocks north at start of the lower road, another end of lower road As you go north on Market St.by what is now a bank. The bulls eye is a round stone structer that runs under the tracks at the dairy bar. There is a creek under their parking lot that runs to the river. If you stand at the dairy look at the RR the house on right was Grandparents the one on the left ours. At one time the family owened the dairy. Any way follow the creek through the lot and there is the bullseye we used to run through it when the tracks were blocked. The last arch is a half of block north by the old Boyer house, They were the same look as the six arch and built near the time of Rockville when they moved the RR from through town. As for the waiting shed there was no founation it was build on poles and braceing to level it off the RR bank, been under that a couple times.

NKP 765 headed an excursion between Steamtown and East Stroudsburg on Labor Day. East Stroudsburg Tower with 33 tall levers for switches, signals and locks was open for us. When 765 returned from a wye, I framed her in the widows.

She was moving slowly, so I lowered the camera to the open window and got a "rods down" pose.

After reading about this DVD on the Forum, I purchased two in the concession car (one for me; the other for a buddy). It is outstanding. I highly recommend it. It is also available in BluRay

This weekend's photo fun is at the National Capital trackers show in Kensington, MD. The Intrepid O-Gauge Railfan Photographer was there as well, and he hopes to have his work after the weekend show is over. For me, today was a chance to use an interesting new double-stack that arrived this week after purchase on the forum. It ran well on an 18-car stack train.

After the "AGHR Kids" literally ran trains all day, giving the adults a break on a very humid day, AGHRHowie and I did some work cleaning up the farm scene area on the club layout as it has deteriorated over time. Basically, we removed the foam bases and the barn area. For now, the farmhouse is sitting on its foam base (shown sitting on the tracks while we worked), but we're going to construct another one that's more subtle. In the mean time, we put replacement ground cover down. We should get it finished Wednesday evening.

Jeff, thank you!

They remind me of the parade of trains the B&O used to run headed up by F units on the Pittsburgh and Western Division a half mile from where I grew up.  The engineer would always wave whether I was on foot, on the bicycle, or in the car.  Then the conductor would wave from the caboose.

I really like these Mark and although the color is not quite 'prototypical', personally I find it much more aesthetically pleasing over the dull grey and dark blue of the Williams scale FAs and also the Legacy Lionel Sharks both of which we have....

What are your picks?

Well #1 is stainless steel Santa Fe... of course. Then it has to be the Daylight.
