Busy week at home, so no work done on the layout ( Didn't even get to run them much), but I did pick up this near mint Lake Shore Limited set. I'm really loving these old MPC trains. So much nostalgia for me from when I was a kid. You can find them cheap, they are colorful & they just run 
Debating doing something to change the track plan around or adding more action. Not sure what though. My youngest gets a kick out of just watching them & want to add more for him.

With the morning sun glistening off the carbodies, Amtrak 156 gets moving out of Roanoke with Phase IV heritage unit 184 on the point
With word that the F units may be headed to storage, here's a look back on happier times. NS F9A 4270 leads the OCS down the R Line in Fort Mill, SC as it makes the annual trip to the Masters golf tournament in Augusta, GA
With NS putting the former Conrail SD80MACs into storage, the variety out on the mainline keeps getting thinner & thinner. Back in the Fall of 2018, NS SD80MAC 7208 (ex CR 4115) brings up the rear of C50 as it heads towards the South Fork Secondary in Summerhill, PA
During a Spring downpour, CSX Dash-8 7766 grinds upgrade through Shawsville, VA with NS 65W on the Christiansburg District

My pictures are now organized.......
1st a recap from last week......
Paddington Station.....arriving from Heathrow and then to the tube....
Arrival Waterloo Station for a walk to our hotel along the Albert Embankment.
Next morning, we took the tube from Vauxhall Station (closer than Waterloo Station) and traveled to Victoria Station where we to a train to Oxted & Kent to visit Chartwell.
Oxted Station on the return trip to London.....
Pictures of 2 more excursions coming up......overall, I am very impressed with the British Rail system......The London tube is great. But be prepared to walk..... my son and I averaged 23K steps daily over the 6 days there.

Sorry Walt. I didn't mean to upset you :- ) Hey, you can always start buying trains again .... and you can begin with a Aero Train set from MTH ... they do show up here on the FS thread from time to time ... not to mention e bay. Just sayin :-)
I agree with you, the Aero Train is a nice train! I fell in love with it the first time I saw it on the cover of a book titled " The Wonder Book of Trains " in my elementary school library. My eyes about popped out of my head upon seeing that photo. When I got the chance, I bought the Aero Train set brand new back in either 2008 or 2009. It still does passenger duty on the Free State Junction Railway too!
Waterloo Station, again......a trip to Portsmouth and the British Naval Museum.....

Near Waterloo Station is the Imperial War Museum.......it is focused on WWI, WWII and the Cold War......these are toys and diversions from WWII, including one from London during the blitz.....

Jenkins Valves (upper left) was built from a BTS kit. The small building (rear/upper center) is the office of The Chromium Process Company, also built from a kit by BTS.

Terrific pictures to day guys, gave me a good break from my packing job. The worst part is, it's just ME doing all the packing of the entire house. My wife is already in the Dallas area (since May) so that leaves me to do the fun job. Guess what got packed first? Thanks guys for a good break. Peter, I rode the train from Dover to London back in, I believe, 1963. I was just a teenager (16) and my grandmother came over to visit us in Stuttgart, Germany where we were living and my dad took us over to England along with a few other places. The train ride was really nice and fast. I used to watch the German railways as much as I could, there was a mainline that was about 5 miles South of where we lived and it was busy all the time, they were still running steam at that time too.
Everyone have a great weekend, if anyone wants to come down and help me pack, I'll take you to some great Mexican restaurants, we have the REAL stuff, not the Tex-Mex junk. We also have some of the best steak houses in the country. I'd put them up against anybody in the whole US. Back to work.

Well, after getting up and moving this morning, I headed out to my LTS to pick up a few things. I got to talking to Tony a bit too much and was overly excited about upcoming York and Strasburg trip that my brain took a slip. I almost walked out without taking my purchases. Tony stopped me before I got halfway towards the door.
While I had been waiting for him to get my stuff, I was chatting with a young railroaders(early 20's I'd say) about trains. I know we always talk about young people in the hobby, and not much interest. Well, this young man sort of reminded me of me when I was his age. Thinking about space, what engines to buy, and all that stuff you think of when you are into trains. I told him not to worry, he'll get there with his collection like we all do.
Now for some photos. On my way back I took a detour from my usual route to where I had ridden my bicycle in the past. This is out on the far spots of the BR&W heading towards Lambertville and heading back towards Ringoes Station. They have made some changes at the station by putting in a retaining wall and fixing the tracks there. When I got up on the platform I was asked can I help you? I said just taking pictures. They told me to stay on the platform and I replied yup, I obey the rules, smarter than that. Enjoy.
