Since the rest of the world seems to get Thanksgiving Thursday mixed-up with Black Friday; Why should we be any dofferent? So welcome to Black Friday Weekend Photo Fun on Thanksgiving Thursday.

I purchased several of the Baseball passenger cars at the Lionel Warehouse sale. I purchased 3 Yankee Cars, 1 Boston Red Sock cars and 2 Phillies cars. 1 Yankee car and the Boston Red Socks car sold on Ebay. However there has been ZERO interest in the Phillies car.

 Since no one wanted my Phillies car I decided to make it something that I wanted. Lionel didn't make a Cincinnati Reds set..too bad ;I bet they could have sold a few of them since they sold out of the Reds Boxcar. So I made my own out of the Phillies car;

It's Thanksgiving, 1950, in the rural town of Beawslaiw...along the Southern Pacific main line...somewhere between San Francisco and Los Angeles.  Elmer Koereckt,  a spotter for the Brisbane & Bushong RR, decided to "strike a blow for liberty" at McCuaig's Maui Lounge, after a big turkey meal.  He had a few too many whiskey sours!

I hope all of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Thank you for everyone that has taken time to contribute pictures and videos to this topic.  All of them are beautiful.

Here's my first humble attempt at a video this season.  Nowhere as nice as Alan's  but I do hope all of you enjoy it.

Although I do a lot more reading then posting I want to say a big thank you to everyone that makes this the best forum anywhere.  Period.  All of you are a great group of people and I wish that everyone and their families have a wonderful and safe holiday season.

McKeen Car:

Found this at a TCA meet in Ponchatoula LA a few weeks ago. It's scratch buit by the seller,

and he had a couple more of them. $30.00 It's powered by a Lionel handcar unit; rear

truck is RK or something. It runs, forward only. For thirty bucks, I couldn't help it.

There must be $10.00 worth of decals on it. Balsa, basswood and stuff. The cowcatcher is

actually fence material. The scale is really a bit bigger than O.

So, MTH cancelled their McKeen car, but I got this! The SP's

were actually painted plain green, I believe.

...also, a scene familiar to many steel mill workers on their way home, back in the 40's, 50's & 60's after their shifts in National Tube Works, McKeesport, PA and/or Duquesne U.S.Steel mill: lots of bars right by the workers' gates; lots of booze.

Nicely done vignette, sir.
