Bill, Always enjoy seeing your photos. Great layout and train collection. Can you tell me about the BN boxcars, i.e. manufacturer, etc.

The 6 BN boxcars are from Menards. Manufacture unknown but speculation that the Menards boxcars are Williams by Bachmann clones. Last month Menards ran an internet sale 6 for $99, all different numbers, heck of a deal.

2)  Now I know ( Bill ) you have some ALASKA RR,

would you care to spend some time, and post a full inventory of ur

Alaska rr on your rails , PLEASE

    I am trying for ideas!!!!

  thank You!!

I do have a bunch of the Alaska RR, mostly Postwar, MPC, and Kughn era with some K-Line, KMT and MTH thrown in the mix. I will try to gather pictures and post. I havn't bought any ARR for quite a few years so most of what I have has some age and miles on them.

#19 is being transferred from the Colorado Division to the Illinois Division.  Captured here in Absinthe, Colorado (where the townsfolk all seem to be affected), the boys here will miss her, she was a good one!

No contest Brian. I would take the K-line over the Atlas all day long!

Not to worry Art, #19 is going to good home where she will be loved, get plenty of exercise and lubed as needed.  You can visit her (and some of her ATSF relatives) when you come down to the Griffith Train Club.

Thanks Howard for allowing me to adopt this beauty.

Anyone have some Bessemer and Lake Erie photos to share?  Model or prototype.

I wish some of my Bessemer and Lake Erie photos were digital, model or prototype.  I haven't had any B&LE diesels since I left N scale and went back to HO about 20 years ago.  Folks call their paint scheme the pumpkin scheme.  I stopped taking photos of trains except at tourist railroads after 9/11/01.  The Buffalo and Pittsburgh engine house on Rt 68 in Butler is a good place to shoot either railroad, but they have signs up now.

But the Rt 68 bridge sidewalk is still public and an OK place from which to take pics of the interesting mix of power on the B&P:

Here's the Wellsboro and Corning 301 which has been on the B&P for a while now.

Here's the former B&P 461, gone to LTEX in 2012 and back again as #463.  The original B&P 463 was still in former SP grey/red when it was sent to LTEX and scrapped.

There is a regional group, the Piedmont Garden RRers that has been invited to help build a permanent layout at the NC Arboretum in Asheville. It's been fun working with the Arboretum staff who have been really enthusiastic about the project. Their landscape planner has done a bang-up job with his crew designing the scenery and building several bridges and trestles for it. Our part has been in advising how to do it, what equipment to use, and we've laid the track and been able to direct much of the operation. Bill Huntemann has been our project engineer and also done a great job.

The 8' trestle (all metal) was installed Thursday and much is left to do for the Christmas gala they have planned for the public opening in a few weeks.

I'll post more on this project as buildings and structures are placed and trains are running.

Good point about the bridge, Anthony!  Where do you park?  Thanks for the photos.  They always have engines of mixed heritage

Ghosts and hobgoblins run  the rails on Halloween night!

Prewar ghosts of times long ago and couple of Marx postwar locos Trick-or-Treating as prewar locos. Prewar Lionel freight cars pulled by a Marx 898 dressed as a prewar Lionel or Ives steamer. And a couple of mid '20's American Flyer coaches pulled by a Marx motor wearing an electric outline loco costume.
