American Flyer's Famous(?) Footnote Train  - Set #15

  Talk about feeling neglected.  Year after year AF Set #16 got all the press - lots of verbiage, a great picture...and what of set #15 - just a lonely footnote off to one side of the star attraction

Well, I say enough of this! Here's Set #15 in all of its former glory!

Oh, and by the way Set #15 had a car Set 16 never touched - #1306. 

BING crossing level for the British market. Dates from around 1910 and needs some work but will be a nice model. At this time the trains had to allow priority to cars....

Very fitting to follow @FRENCHTRAINS with my latest additions to the collection, again apologies for sellers crappy photos ( lol ) , I really should wait til they get here and take decent photos for you guys, but the excitement of the purchase takes over

So last night after a while looking for one ( I am a cheap bastidge and look for bargains) A French Hornby SNCF BB-8051 fell into my fat fingers ... added bonus it came with 2 open wagons ... Now I can replace the Hachette  version I have had for a few years ..

Nice little Hornby. You will see a great difference between the original model which runs well and the Hachette one.

Thanks Daniel, for sure the Hachettes are all "Flash over substance" They look nice , but just dont perform and are so obviously built to a price point .

I am looking forward to the Hornby's arrival for sure

Some Brimtoy accessories (water tower and signals) I acquired from the Michael Foster collection auction; all from around 1955 and with tinplate  speckled imitation concrete posts.

a few years ago, I had the same problem. Found them with some missing parts.

After repair, include 2 new posts made.

Greetings Kibri fans

Here's my latest acquisition--a Kibri engine shed that seems to be uncatalogued. Maybe it's because of its strange size --too large for HO/00 yet too small for O gauge locomotives.

It fits Biller perfectly!!

if you have never looked closely at your Marx 3/16" scale flat cars, you should at least make sure both sides show the same roadname.... or not..!

when i saw this B&M flat car without stakes, i thought i found a pretty rare car...
turns out i was only half right...

On the way home from Nevada yesterday I made a detour to the local Fed X to pick up a delivery I had on hold.

Tease!  It's not even high-enough res to read the carton contents. I think I made out "passenger set" and those are large, tinplate boxes, so I am guessing standard gauge. Lehigh Valley? If so, I'm jealous!

George, one is a PRR set and the other a NYC Empire State Express set. They are both headed up by #6 loco’s. These are a few years old, but WERE unrun until they got to me.

I had the same idea.  MTH may or may not resume production of standard gauge, so I also bought the PRR #6 loco (ps3).  I would have preferred the ps2 version, but Sidetrack Hobbies was sold out.  I did get both of the passenger sets MTH made for these two locomotives.  The MTH #6 (with traction tires and a can motor) should be able to pull five cars easily.  One of the two observation cars will have to stay in the yard!

The only other item on my "hot list" is the MTH PRR American Flyer Brass Piper.  Now I just need to find one at the right price!
