Layout got covered with plastic sheets so it can go to bed and sleep for a while so I can get my sports car and motorcycle up and running this year for the summertime!!
I will turn on the switch power and exercise them once a week so they don't develop the "sticky wicket" syndrome.
Anyone else put their layout to sleep for the springtime?
Or would that cause a nervous breakdown ...

Kerrigan, not quite this early. I am getting my Vietnam era USMC "Mule" serviced for a big meet and show in April. I am planning a major mod to my layout in May so it will go to sleep then.

Why would I. I run trains all year round and play with my other outdoor hobbies also When the time comes.
No need to give up one or the other.
I agree. It's every bit as inviting to go down to pleasantly cool basement in the summer as it is the warm one in the winter.

A BIG NOPE! - my trains run almost every day of the year! NO interest in outdoor hobbies or sports - never really liked sports.
Wow! Another non-pseudo or wantabe jock! My interests have been trains, autos,
travel, photography, and several others. I would only be interested in sports if I had the build (7' tall for basketball, 300 lbs. for football) and could get paid the millions
people pay to watch it while I am off doing and spending my money on other things.
