I am going to check it out. Dec one had a lot of toys hoping more trains this time.
I use to attend this with a train buddy, but the parking got too expensive for the little amount of train stuff available. That was a few years ago, maybe it may have changed.
Went in december. If i remember right,, $7.00 to park, $11.00 to enter. lots of TOYS, fair amount of trains. nothing spectactular, high prices, spent maybe $40.00 on misc parts & stuff mostly from George T. fun to look , you never know. Being its the post christmas season, maybe some deals can be had. Sometimes i drop $$, sometimes, nutin.
Yep, I'm going for parts from George, sometimes you get lucky and get something
good there.

im still on the fense ,,not sure ,,
Just got back. The is a shell of what it used to be. There are trains but alot of toys as well. Except for Toms Trains, all of the dealers that had new trains were at or near retail. There was one dealer that had some nice postwar and he dealing and selling. Westchester Trains just sells crap and over charges for it. Then there was some guy named Bill Winkel or had has name on Madison Hardware cards who when I asked how he did this got angry at me, the he said he had a million dollars worth of trains at his home. A little shady!
Sounds like today would have been better time & $$ spent on going to the Big E!
I lived in White Plains for many years. I stopped going to that show long ago.
Table after table of Godzillas not my cup of tea.
Scrappy
I was there yesterday. I came from Long Island. Two bridge tolls, gas, $5.00 to park and $11.00 entrance fee. I was in over $20.00 just to look without buying anything! (I really don't understand the $11.00 entrance fee!)
Yes, there were a lot of toys and other items, but I didn't mind that. But, there was only one table that I could actually say had attractive pricing. One dealer had the newly released Lionel ZW-L for $719.00.
As others have said, all I bought was some parts (from George T.) for repair jobs I am working on. Boy, those parts really cost me!

Erie, not Eerie
I stopped going two years ago for many of the same reasons discussed above. The Big E Show is a far far far better alternative!
the door fee of $11 is annoying. Bought some parts from George. Tom trains was really only table for new stuff. Prefer the montvale NJ shows and Allentown.
Well I went, only got parts from George, didn't see much, heard most of the dealers
were in Springfield. I just got a card in the mail from Greenberg shows that there's
one in Queens College that's not to bad.

I guess I made a good decision by not going.

I got that Greenburg card today as well. I probably will hit that. If I didn't live in White Plains I would not go to that show. I think because of the costs train guys stay away. If Tom decided not to go a entire row would be empty.
Has anyone gone to that show in the past, I wonder how good it is, I know
when I used to go to the GB show in Edison with my Uncle, I got great stuff there,
it is bigger than White Plains show and had more train vendors.

I believe George Tebolt runs that show. It's got to be very expensive just to rent the cross county center.
I think it's $80.00 a table that's pretty high.

George is a great guy. Perhaps he should look for another venue that isn't so costly to rent and yet can handle the number of dealers that the Westchester Center can.

Yes the Westchester County Center is very pricy to use. In the mid 90s they did have one show at the Eastchester High School but since one of the members of the group that runs the show who lived in Eastchester passed away they require that one member of the group live in Eastchester to use the high school. They have had the show(s) operating since November of 1983 and many of the members have since passed away and those who are left are getting on in years so these shows may not last much longer.
What a Shame. Back when I lived in the area, the Westchester Show was THE ONE to attend or sell trains. Lots of dealers, lots of great stuff. Shame to hear it has gone down hill so badly.
On the other hand, the Big E was great. We OGR types had a ball displaying and selling a lot of our products.
