Western New York and Pennsylvania Railroad, LLC, Venango Museum, and the Oil Region Alliance partnered for the first annual Santa Train Stop. Santa's Train stopped on Relief Street, Oil City. The first 75 children received a golden ticket to see the Polar Express at the Venango Museum.

Speaking of Alcos - and that is a handsome diesel locomotive pictured- does anyone know what became of Alco after they dropped out of the locomotive business? They were aquired by White Motor Corporation, the maker of heavy duty trucks, for the marine application diesel engines. Alas, White went under in 1982.

Holy locomotive smoke, Batman!!
I used to work in Oil City! Come to think of it though, that was 35 years ago. Ouch!!
If it is the first annual, I will have to watch for it next year. I can get to Oil City as fast as I can get to Pittsburgh!
