Why would Lionel offer another CZ after Atlas has pretty much saturated the market with CORRECT 21" scale cars?

IC City of New Orleans would be a great start.  Santa Fe Super Chief not far behind.

Do not hold your breath for the CZ or El Capitan cars for the very same reason.  GGD has run them twice and sold out both times.  The demand would be pretty low.

However, if Atlas wants to do a Santa Fe Super Chief set.  Those would be pretty popular since GGD did them once and shows no indication, at this time, of a re-run.

Are you reading this Mr. Pisani?

Would I buy them if Lionel produced a 21" set of Super Chief cars... No Thanks.

Would I buy them if MTH produced a 21" set of Super Chief Cars... Same Answer.

I'll second on the 21" RF&P cars. The RF&P along with the N&W and PRR ordered several 10-6 Pullmans for New York-Norfolk and New York-Roanoke trains. The RF&P 10-6's had Tuscan Red paint and gold stripes on the sides but had RF&P lettering. The cars were named King George, King William, and King & Queen. Beautiful cars and could be very popular.

GGD is also offering cars for PRR and RF&P for their Silver Meteor, but they're Budd cars not Pullman.

I would LOVE to see GGD offer the Pullman 10-6 Sleeper.  Seaboard, as well as others, had a number of them.  Maybe as an individual car?!?!?!

I would like to see a 21" Golden State set.  This consist was pulled by both the Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad (“Rock Island”) and the Southern Pacific Company (SP), so fans of these two roads might be interested.  The SP engines were either in the vermilion and silver scheme or the Daylight scheme adding more options for the SP fan.

Also, there were Golden State through cars between Chicago and New York as part of NYC and PRR trains, adding two more roads where fans might want to add a car to their consists.

Hopefully there would be no dome cars as part of the set since the Golden State had none.

K-Line 18" car.

The ones I have on order

My concern is I have ordered the AFT cars as they appeared in the catalogs, kind of expecting to pay for them as they arrive at different times so as not to break the bank.  It looks like now they may arrive, assuming they will someday, all at once which will kill the train account.  One of the reasons I've stopped buying until these arrive.

The problem is you are completely ignoring price. There are many operators out there who would love to have a CZ or El Cap set of cars but just can't afford to spend $250 plus per car!

John, where did you come up with the $250 plus per car???

I am asking that Atlas build them, not GGD and based on the MSRP for the California Zephyr cars ($165-$175 sreet price about $145) it is reasonable to assume that the Super Chief cars would fit that price point.

I was referring to this comment you made

At a street price of around $120 per car, I think a CZ or El Cap set made by Lionel would sell well. There are many people out there who could not afford the previous offerings by other companies. In addition, Lionel offers the Stationsounds car which have always been very popular.
