My loop (elevated and wide enough for a single track {Fastrack}) for the VL Bigboy is "084" and about 43 feet oval shaped. Legacy base and cab 2 are used. From reading the instructions for Sensor Track, details of where the engine is at a certain point will be announced. What am I missing? To date the Sensor track is not hooked up. Am I missing out on some "fun" because there are no switches. I have 2 switches and 2 Wyes (all 072)   but do not have at this time enough room to install them.

The announcements and the like are when you have LCS installed in an iPad.  If you have just the sensor track wired up, when the locomotive runs over it, it'll fill in all the information like road name, engine type, etc.

The big thing the sensor track can do is trigger a recorded sequence when a specific locomotive with a sensor, or any locomotive with a sensor runs across it.

You do not need anything else other than the sensor track, a Legacy or Cab1l base, and an LCS power supply to get the pre recorded announcements. When your engine passes over depending on the selected pre recorded action you will get a bell, whistle, etc. no iPad needed.  As GRJ said it will also fill in the orange module info to the Cab 2 rather than using the module.

Add a WiFi module and the sensor track using the LSU app will locate your engine on the layout you created on the app.
