People will understand if I say I grew a little weary of Simple Green discussions . . .
Sorry Lee but you've become part of OGR Forum lore.
Jerry
Was I the instigator of the Simple Green Track Cleaning Procedure? LOL!

The one I enjoyed reading the most was the Talk About the Good Ole Days thread. Thanks again to all who shared their memories on there.
For me, it was the outrage over the original blue comet "horn", I mean "whistle" where even the OGR staff chimed in criticizing it, and then Lionel offering a correction in a timely manner.
Sure many of us wrote directly to Lionel to get a fix (I know I did), but they were also acutely aware of the issue ahead of time and were working on a fix for us. Thank you OGR and Lionel!
Regarding paying tribute to a deceased forum member:
I am reminded of John Donne's lines in his beautiful Meditation XVII:
"...any man's death diminishes me because I am involved in mankind, and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee."
I am surprised that no-one has nominated the "Almost lost the house" topic as an important thread. Even if it is from early 2013 it seems to me like that's a most important cautionary tale.
Pete
Well Texas Pete - you have to keep things in perspective as regards this forum.
Sure, losing the house would be unfortunate . . .
but compared to losing the trian layout? Now that is a topic that is seriously important!

Any type of "How To" thread is a winner in my book. From modifying ZW's to fixing smoke units or adding sound boards.
Scott, thinking about it, the "York Kosher Hot Dog" thread WAS pretty important as it brought together about 20 Forum members for a hour of meeting, greeting, and eating.

Oh Geez . . . I've been found out now. Fried balogna sandwishes (I actually use a microwave in my workshop) are sort of the required eating when I'm deep into a project, although I guess a Kosher Hot Dog would do, too, but it would take longer to make.

I re-discovered the joys of Spam Fritters. Does that count?
Spam! Yum-yum! Love the stuff!
I've also been know to indulge in a fried bologna sandwich from time to time, but Spam is one of my weekend breakfast regulars.

After you posted that, I actually did go out buy some bologna, fired it up, and really enjoyed it! Brought back memories! My wife got the blood pressure monitor and paddles at the ready!
Hands down: Product reviews - preferably satisfied reviews, but the negatives do have an important place.
Small starter layouts to get new people into the hobby.
A good plan might be a 'core module' for future layout expansion.
Remember: Everything in moderation!

Definitely any conversation about Super "O" Track. Nah, just kidding....
I kind of liked the Cat threads-
Rob
I'm with Rob, definitely the cat threads.
Bottom 10:
Any with the term "L***-U*"!
That's interesting because I enjoy the threads with pets. I find the pet-related posts are a refreshing break from the usual posts.
Earl
Me too, Earl! Hopefully nobody is forcing those who don't care for pets and trains threads to read those messages.
To me, any threads that educate are valuable. Not too fond of product/manufacturer bashing.
Pete
I like the pet threads too.
Weekend photo fun is great, and the most boring are the continual threads of returning manufacturing to the US.
How many people (figures) can you fit on a layout?
Well I sure have learned a lot form this post,I had though about doing this for quite a while.
Very entertaining to say the least.
Thanks everyone for the input.
2 Most import thing's to remember are
--------DO NOT CLEAN TRACK WITH SIMPLE GREEN----------
And especially to value your relationships with loved ones and your forum members.Because you never know if your next.

I believe that's the most sensible thing I've ever read on here.
Thank you for saying that.

I can't recall if this was a thread in 2012, but one interest I have is what is going with O scale manufacturing production especially with Atlas O and its Masterline production. There has been no significant Masterline engine in a couple of years mostly (if not all) Trainman production.
Paul
For me, The Weekend Photo Fun and the Sunday Scenic threads are top views.
I am always interested in Layout pictures and how to articles as well.
