Pat Scaglione ("Scags") owns Fish n Train which is part of his company, EZ Catch. It's all one business/location as far as I know. I do business with him by phone/mail order and on eBay, have not been there in person. He's still in business, although he got hit by Sandy. Great guy.
I'm in NYC visiting right now. Was in SI too. It's sad that this city really has IMO no good train stores. TrainWorld is not for visiting. There really is no placed to see other than driving out to LI to Charlies or TrainLand. When I was in Manhattan last week up on 23rd street two men were talking about the buildings all around and one told the other how he remembered Lionel trains in the store windows and he lamented that you don't see or hear of them anymore.
Good morning guys,
It a shame there is no Train related hobby shops here on Staten Island
If any of you are visiting Staten Island you are welcomed to email me and come to my home and see my layout and I also have the SIRT right in my backyard. We can watch the real thing up close.LOL

Pat Scaglione ("Scags") ("Pat the Pirate") Fish n Train is no longer located on Victoty Blvd. The new location is Tyson Street off of Richmond Terrace next to Snug Harbor.
One of my favorite all time train stores was Sal Marino's SMC Model Railroad Center on Greenleaf Avenue. I still remember his multiple page ads in RMC. Ah, the memories...

There are actually two model train stores on Staten Island. Scagg's as previously mentioned and LeBlanc Trains http://www.lioneltrainstoreofstatenisland.com/
LeBlanc's is off of Forest Avenue in Port Richmond. They've been in business forever. They're mentioned in 50's Lionel Service Station lists.
28 Hamlin Place Staten Island NY 10302 It's the building at the end of the gravel driveay.

The building is still there and it's open but not as a train shop. I actually can't figure out why since it looks like it's in the middle of a demolition.....completely filled with debris except for a couple of shelves of junk camera equipment (it used to be a camera shop in addition to trains.)
Another SI place was Island Trains on Hylan Blvd which moved to NJ and is now the Model Train Store of NJ. Henry is who I do my Lionel pre-orders through. Takes forever to deliver but the best prices.

After your train store search you can eat at Enoteca Maria. No trains but the owners brother is a "train' guy :-) our own JohnS.
I have preordered from Scag's and he is a really nice guy. I'd order more there if there was diddley-squat in the catalogs. Never been there but was glad to hear he had survived the spring zephyr. The above doesn't sound like New York is the train place
it once was when that woman ran a shop there and was turning out the kits during
WWII, and 200 5th Ave.? was famous for trains.
Forget about LeBlanc's. I was there last Tuesday. It's a little building in back of his house. The owner was rude and disinterested. Stuff is piled all over the place. The layout is covered with boxes and trains. Totally a waste of time. I was very disappointed.

You're right about it being cluttered. That's part of its charm! I actually didn't even know there was a layout in there. Talk to the owner about Weissglass speedway and you'll get him enagaged.
Well, you can swim over to the Statue of liberty.

Eddie, or take the ferry to Manhattan and then the ferry to the Statue. Now that I said that I'm wondering if the ferry to the statue is running?
