Not sure how well an "O" to O27" would work - the fat end of all these pins was snugly seated into the O27 track, leaving the skinny, pointed ends sticking out......

That just suggests that the previous owner didn't know how to use them correctly, unless they are GarGraves to 027 mating pins. The small end does look rather pointy.

The small end is quite pointy, you could hurt yourself on these! Also, the small end is stamped more or less into a 3 sided shape, it's not really round. My photos are not well lit, but I think you can see the 3-sided ends ok.

I'm not the least bit familiar with Gargraves track, so I can't say if that's correct or not.

From the picture really cannot tell the profile of the smaller end.  But, my guess would be a transition from O27 to GarGrave or Ross switches.

I know, it's really hard to photograph with my little Canon! It looks like each pin is formed nice and round on the fat end. Then the skinny end looks like it was turned down on a lathe, then crudely stamped three times (for 3 sides). They really are quite rough and misshapen on the skinny end!

I was repairing some 1122 Lionel switches I bought, and found these pins in some of them...

802 Pins

They look like they're supposed to transition from Lionel O27 track to ????

Those match the GarGraves 802 pins I have. The giveaway is that they are engineered with a slight offset to accommodate the small difference in the rail profile and gauge of the steel tubing.
