No running for me till Sunday night. Picked up some transformers at Allentown. Redoing wiring on lights and accessories. Made sure everything phased properly. Surprised to find a K-line multi tap transformer with grounded plug had to be rewired to be in phase with powerhouse transformers. Tommorow night first run will be my E6 Atlantic.

Pat...I've always wanted to run a steam locomotive.

I took a cab ride in the 734 earlier in the year but I didn't know they are offering "Engineer for an Hour" on it. They occasionally do on their diesels, usually during special events, for about $100. I did it once and loved it.

Is the steam engineer program new? Dare I ask what the cost is? I'll have to give them a call.

Pat, I'm officially envious!   I'll have to put that on my list to look into.

In the mean time, I'm really looking forward to a second day of running my scale Polar Express at the Pittsburgh Independent Hi-Railers setup at the Greenberg show in Monroeville, PA.  I ran it nearly all day yesterday, and it was a BIG hit with both young and old alike (and the Hot Chocolate Megasteam was also a big hit, with several people asking where to get it).

Probably nothing this weekend as I have been and am continuing to ballast track.  Hopefully, running trains again is not to far off!  Bo

Ok, I may clear things off the mainline and do a little bit of running and if so, it will probably be my NYC RS11 #8010.  Now I have to get back to ballasting!

I was looking forward to running my 3 Ann Arbor GP-35s together for the first time.  I can't remember how long it has been since they came out but AA #391 came out of it's sealed shipping box just a couple of days ago to get it ready for the D3R meet.  The lashup of 391, 388 and 387 did not disappoint although they were hauling a ridiculously short consist of a hopper, a box car and a caboose.   What can I say?  It was getting late!

Our layout is now history and I really miss running trains at a moments notice.

Was able to take our new Legacy Berk over to the club layout under construction for a test run. The track is very uneven with gaps and rough spots from a move that it really wasn't enjoyable other than seeing the locomotive on the rails!

RM,

Thanks, I'm glad you liked it and I appreciate the compliment.

The locomotive, although an older model, I think it was produced in 2000, doesn't have all the newest bells and whistle, it is one of my favorites.  You'll note in the photo that I am using MTH track with the molded plastic ballast.  I've been working to apply stone ballast over the molded ballast.  It's a time consuming job, but after it is done the track itself looks much nicer.  That's what I have spent a good part of the day doing.

Took a look at your Blog on the J&C Studios Archive and you do some great work!  I'm particularly impressed with the upgrades you made to the MTH Santa Fe SD40-2.  Very nice!

Thanks again,  Bo
