SP #4294 Cabforward - Missed this model last time it was released and not missing it again.  Not cheap, but pre-order pricing puts it below what the 2014 release is going for on the aftermarket.

Plus, this model was $1550 when first released in 2005.  Adjusted for inflation, that $2,150 in today's dollars, above the $2000 msrp and way above the pre-order pricing.

May also grab the SP CA-1 caboose and a superbass SD70 but I'll need to see it in person first and I'm sure dealers will order plenty to get one later.

A man with taste!

I'm hoping the SD70mac is from the tooling acquired from MTH.  Lionel's 70mac tooling is quite dated, and MTH's, while not the latest, is much better.

What would be really nice is if anyone could get the rights (or even physically find) the tooling to the K-Line SD70mac/SD75m...

1990's version Strasburg #90 (red roof, pinstripes) is my "Holy Grail" locomotive!  I've been wanting this made for over 30 years.  Not a fan of the heavy price, but it may be a long long time before we see it again, even though the catalog says more variations are coming in the future.  I'm not going to hang my engineer's hat on that!  Luckily I already have the MTH Strasburg wood sided passenger car set.

The "B" list includes:                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  PRR and Milwaukee Road SuperBass SD45                                                                                                                                                                                                                            BNSF Coal Train set and add on hoppers                                                                                                                                                                                                                             Tough Guy Gym and Fitness building - (I got a chuckle out of that!)

I like the 2-8-0's but have too many preorders looming.  Same for a UP 4-12-2's, I always liked the big steam but never pulled the trigger on them.

I'm feeling the same way, Jonathan.  Now it's time to reallocate funds towards layout building expenses.  But those darn catalogs and dealer custom offerings keep getting in my way!!

Strasburg #90-1990s paint scheme, and a two pack of woodside coaches, I own 4 of the MTH Strasburg cars so I'll be happy with 6 cars. Price tags is steep, but I've wanted #90 since I was little, so I have a while to save up for it. Other than that probably nothing else, already got other stuff on preorder.

I'm taking a long hard look at the 4-12-2. It hits my criteria of being a cool looking loco and it's interesting in design/history. The three chuffs thing is pretty awesome and very unique. I think I might go for it in the C&O scheme. I like that they offer that fake scheme because it helps me shoe horn the locomotive into the story of my layout. Granted, I don't think that thing could navigate most of the bends around Appalachia.

I’ve ordered the NKP Consolidation from Mr. Muffins. Hopefully it gets made and doesn’t need its smoke/fire boxes repainted out of the box.

If it doesn’t make the cut, my preorders will be zero. Not complaining, but for all the double-secret hoopla around new tooling and the like, I thought the catalog was a bit “just okay.”

I realize it’s a home run for the Strasburg guys and I’m happy they are finally getting their long-sought release(s).

Jonathan, I suspect we all go through that, so I sell off my oldest to make room for the newest and greatest!

But from this catalog, the biggest disappointment for me was that a long awaited Genesis diesel was in the LionChief line, not the Legacy line.  And I am waiting for the hard copy catalog to arrive so I can see if the Grand Canyon Railway set has cars with the proper Harrriman roofs - I cannot tell from the online graphic.  If so, that is my buy.  Steamer #29, although their generic model, is close enough, with a couple of changes, does a pretty good job of looking like the real item.

After careful consideration, I may take a pass on this one. I'm not a Legacy guy and run mostly conventional and PW so the target for me is something along the Lion Chief Plus 2.0 line and selected rolling stock. The Lionel Lines 773 steamer and the Amtrak Genesis, both in 2.0, caught my eye but neither are must haves.

I usually wait a few weeks to get my hands on the hard copy catalog and give it another once over before the pre-order deadline and then decide. So we'll see.

I suspect it will be the same tooling as the Reading cars, so roofs will be wrong for Harriman.

I'm looking at the unpowered EMD demonstrator SD45 with Super Bass.  I can run it with  any road power and enjoy the enhanced sound.  It will go along just fine with my EL SD45s , U-Boats or as back in EL's day, just about anything.  Part of the attraction is the fact that I had one in N Scale many years ago and always liked the paint scheme.
