OGR, CTT, OST, TCA Qtrly.
OGR on-line.
OGR of course is #1! CTT is not bad either.
OGR
I'm partial to OGR.
Not sure why...
CTT is a better Toy Train reference, OGR is a liitle more on the scale side. I like them both, I gave up my subscription to OGR because their mail delivery to Canada was hit or miss. I can get it faster at the book store. (I had to call at least 3 times for replacement issues)
Since I am into O gauge now I like OGR and CTT a lot. I still read Model Railroading some. there is an electronic magazine posted on this forum from time to time I like, too.
I subscribe to OGR, and also to Railway Modeller, as I love British trains too.
I subscribe to OGR and CTT and occasionally pickup Model Railroader.
Kevin
I used to get both OGR and CTT, but I no longer have much interest in product reviews or ads. I only buy a magazine once in a while. I'm perfectly happy with this Forum in terms of content and activity, and I check-in here daily (CTT and MTJ Forums once a week, if that).
I like OGR of course and CTT. I really the new iPad app OGR developed. It is a great way to view the magazine. I do still get the print as well.
If it is about trains, I like it. If it is about steam, I like it even more.
I subscribe to OGR and CTT. They complement each other nicely, IMHO. I occasionally pick up copies of publications devoted to other scales or the real 1:1 deal if they contain articles that are of particular interest.
I also really like the TCA Quarterly, because I am not only interested in modern stuff, but also the history of toy and model trains, and the TCAQ often presents information that really took some digging and diligent research to uncover. I never put down a copy of the TCAQ without having learned something about the history and lineage of our hobby.
The LCCA's Lion Roars and the LOTS Switcher also have some good stuff in them, although at times I feel they devote too much space to their annual conventions.

Model Builder. I have the first 15 years of CTT and never go back and look at them.
I do regularly look at the original Model Builders. When I was younger, they were full of dreams and promise, and I enjoy reliving that experience.
OGR, CTT, Lion Roars, TCQ
OGR and CTT. #1 and #2
OGR, CTT, LCCA & TCA publications.
No question,OGR.

OGR and CTT. I've been reading these magazines for 25 years now. They both have been a real treasure trove of toy and model train information.
I've been enjoying OGR since Run115. My main interest is CTT. It's a known fact that CTT cares more about the "toy" train collector. The TCQ is good reading. I enjoyed the TCQ more before they changed the TCA Mission.
OGR is more for the "highrailers" than anyone else. It would be enjoyable if OGR would include tinplate in their publication. I appreciate the Tinplate Forum very much. Who knows, maybe if enough "tinplaters" would voice their interest to the OGR brass? For now, my OGR subscription has lapsed due to the economy and forementioned complaints.
OGR then CTT, also subscribe to Trains. Pick up other mags at the hobby shop occasionally.
OGR & CTT
Count me among the masses, OGR and CTT. But also wanted to mention “Classic Trains Magazine.” No, it’s not toy trains, but it is a wonderfully produced magazine full of great articles and even better pictures. I’ve learned a lot of train history and look forward to each issue. Wish it was more frequent than quarterly.
CTT because they cater to post war and older trains.
Rob
OGR and CTT--I like them both.

There's absolutely nothing preventing the publication of more O tinplate articles in the magazine EXCEPT for the fact that almost nobody is submitting O tinplate articles and photos.
Keep in mind that I am as much a tinplate enthusiast as I am a "regular" O gauge enthusiast, and I have a collection of tinplate to prove it. I am more than happy to feature tinplate layouts or tin-related articles in the magazine IF and WHEN I receive something that merits publication. Anyone interested simply needs to contact me by e-mail and send along a couple of sample photos. Takes but a few minutes to get the ball rolling.
CTT, since issue 1 in 1987, OGR since 1980, MRR since 1975. All are equal IMO because they all have something I like.
OGR
Narrow Gauge and Short Line Gazette is my favorite..it addresses the railroads and
rolling stock I find most interesting; OGR is second, as it splashes in both the highrail and scale pond I am in; Model Railroader is a distant third..they are N and HO, and offer less of plans and scratchbuilding in that, even, than they once did...CTT is well-named, except I think it might be CLT, and I am not a Lionel collector, per se, as it addresses old trains, which I, in the brands I am interested in, am fairly well informed, and they appear infrequently, I dropped two clubs and RMC, which last mag was mostly eastern railroads oriented. Although if I see it on a newsstand with interesting plans in it, I will pick it up. CLT's renewal just came in, and it and MR are the ones I am iffy about and are most threatened. Just too much paper floats in here. I don't subscribe to Trains or any paper that addresses current diesel railroading, in which I have no interest.
OGR, with an occasional Railroad Model Craftsman.
OGR CTT
OGR Digital and CTT
I think RMC is a sleeper mag. Most articles are HO, but there seems to be more prototype info with many articles.
OGR and CTT.

Rich,
Give CTT a try. You might even like enough to dump your OGR subscription.

Allan,
Thank you very much for your input. My layout is in the middle of renovation (adding two more elevated O-Gauge loops). Maybe when and if my health permits completion.
Ed Boyle,
Everyone is well aware of your, "Sultan Of Postwar" title. How about a few articles featuring your favourite prewar tinplate (before the 700e). Surely you have more than a limited few.
