I have no cabooses on my layout since I am doing a modern themed railroad. So, I'll be using ETD's for all my consist.
As for coloring, the one you posted is beautiful. Chessie has and always shall be, one of my most favorite liveries. I also like others as well. Like UP, Santa Fe and many others actually.
I also love the bay window caboose. Looks awesome tail grabbing a UP rattler in the desert southwest.

Well I like dkdkrd's color. I think the older CPR colors were that ATSF color.

Eric:
It started life as an MTH Western Maryland Northeastern style caboose. A fellow club member custom painted and detailed it for me. This was my last resort as like you, I had been unable to find a DL&W caboose.

That looked like a Weaver "Northeastern" caboose model.
However, the ONLY correct DL&W caboose has been the brass model by Weaver.
From what I've seen it looks as if Weaver and MTH use the same tooling/molds for their Northeast cabooses.
In real life I preferred Southern Pacific's dark brown.
In my Std Gauge tinplate world it's bright red with black roof and all sorts of brass trim.

Coast Guard White. It was interest in the Coast Guard that lead my oldest to NROTC. I'd already bought the caboose, before she switched. Can't find a nice full sized US Navy caboose
Black and Yellow... No not the Steelers.
This Black Atlas O caboose was fun because it was an undecorated model that my son and I painted black and added some decals. They were diesel engine decals, but he wanted a Black NS caboose, so it is his fantasy version.
The Yellow Chessie is my favorite road name. It's my only Chessie item and is from MTH. Some day when I get done getting all the trains my kids want, Dad will start building his Chessie coal train fleet.

hello guys and gals...........
Well I have just one caboose and that is the Lionel MPC #9163 N5C porthole with Red body and black roof, yellow steps. Red isn't my favorite color anyway.

The New Haven NE-6 in the "Black Maria" scheme is my favorite. The red version was okay, but there was just something about that black body, with white ends, that just jumped out at you.
Red or Pennsy tuscan.
The brown color used on the K-Line Southern Pacific Extended Vision Caboose below. I own two of these in my collection, and both look quite sharp.
You can never go wrong with a classic red caboose!
NYC "jade green" of course!

NYC Wood-side in Dark Brown is atop the list, and the K-line version is GREAT. Then everything else is a close second. followed by FRED. It's always nice to have a finished look to a train as it pulling away from you
PC green!

Don't have any since we converted to 100% passenger service operations, but when I did, my favorite was yellow. Fortunately, this covered a lot of railroads as many use some use of yellow in their caboose color schemes.
Red.
Dark brown wood sided.
