what do I need?

i love aileene's but for ameritowne or korber I would use 2-part epoxy glue or mid-range AC glue (do not use the thin, runny kind). with the AC glue you can also use accelerator, to help speed up things once you have the pieces in place. 

for paint, you can certainly use spray cans or if you prime with cheap primer, acrylic craft paints. for mortar use Roberts mortar which can be applied easily then wiped off the brick face at any time. btw, you should consider washing the resin casting with soap and water before painting to make sure there's no residual mold. it will help your paint to adhere better.

The Ameri-Towne kits are plastic not resin. One of the liquid plastic cements such as Plastic-Weld or Bondene is best for these. They actually weld the plastic surfaces together.

For painting, I use a rattle can brick red primer followed by liquid acrylics from the craft store.

For glue, I like the gorila super glue - blue cap- and not the regular gorila glue.  it is thicker , sets quickly, works with the accelerator  and has some sort of "rubber" in it that give a bit less brittle joint.
