For those of you who own this monster what do you think of it? What are it's capabilities and are you generally happy with you decision? Do you think it's worth the extra $$. Thanks.

Yes, I like it a lot. Without a doubt the best transformer out there, and I have 4 Z4000's. It is large, but compact for what it produces. In this case, you get what you pay for and no other transformer offers what it has.
Its good but very expensive. Does not put out a pure sine wave so it may not be compatible for all locos in conventional. I run conventional. My PW type transformers work fine so I have no interest in it or changing. If I ran command I would use Lionel 180W bricks ,more bang for the buck or watts per dollar.

I've looked at it several times, very cool looking and very capable. However, being pretty much a 100% command guy, I use the PH180 bricks. I also have DCS, so if I need variable channels, I have them through the TIU.
Also, it's really expensive!
Its excellent and worth every dollar spent!!
Chris,
Here are other forum members' experiences with the ZW-L (1) and some comparisons.
I have two and really like them, BTW.

OK one more Question. can you run all 4 channels with the cab 2 remote in either conventional or command?
Example: I'm running command on track 1. And conventional on track 2. Is that doable from the cab 2 remote?
