What do you wear when you fix trains??

A BIG SMILE.

I am normally wearing jeans and a t-shirt.
I have a similar denim apron (no patches or logos), but it is extremely rare for me to use it.

Having it reminds me of junior high school shop class. We were required to wear them.

When my kids were little, we couldn't find similar aprons for them, so my mother-in-law, who knew how to make clothing, made them their own aprons.

 

I should wear my apron more often, it might catch dropped screws, etc.

I kind of don't wear mine much and usually after something gets on my cloths I regret it!

Guess I need to put on my Train Fixing Tie!!

Really good reading glasses, a handy-dandy magnified light fixture (nearby), and flip flops (on backwards, for good luck).

Clothing, depending on the weather.

I need a good apron, I have trashed so many T shirts and ocassionally jeans.

A heavy duck apron (I used to have leather one but I gave it to my nephew years ago when he took up rock sculpting).

  Dr. Emmett Brown wears formal western attire when HE fixes his train...  

Jeans and a T-shirt, the same as I wear 90% of the time anyway. If I'm painting, or some other activity that can make an uncleanable mess, I wear an especially grungy pair of jeans and t-shirt that I keep for just such occasions. In the summer, I switch to cutoffs and a t-shirt.

I wear only my glasses. 

A beer & pitt stained wife beater, daisy duke shorts, combat boots, and a GIT-R-DONE bandanna.

Same thing I wear every day for everything.....

 

Depends on what I'm fixing.. Last week I was adjusting rollers on a PW Awuarium car so a bathing suit with a diving mask fit the bill... Prior to that was repairs on a 19th century passenger car.. Got out boots with spurs and a sixgun and overalls..  Tonight will change bulb on a streamline diner... Had in mind a tux and bow tie.... Hope this helps.. ✌

But, the question itself is one that I had no idea existed in American English.

 

The replies have already taken most of my "clever" responses, so I can only 

say "yeah, me too!".

My kids were home and awake. Had to wear something more then glasses while working on below link..  Cant wait for school to start in August.
