I have just acquired a 5B test set in excellent working condition. What is the going price on today's train market?

It is worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it.
Eddie,
A friend of mine paid 2500.00 for one in 1997 it was in the factory box.

Lucky man.
Those 5B test sets are rather difficult to find.
IMHO, the only way to determine the value would be to sell it in a well advertised auction, such as Stout.

Was that a model 5B?
If so I've love to see a picture.
(There were six different models: 5, 5A, 5B, 5C, 5D and 5F)
