I was trying to look at the 2004 volume 2 catalog and it looks like the Lionel website has truncated the online catalogs before 2010?

I wonder if this is a move that confirms they are not going to service product that is older than 5 years?

I use(d) Lionel's website as a true resource - and I also use MTH's the same way, at least when it comes to what-when-where for products. The new attitude at Lionel makes it now often useless to me to look up older products for "used" purchases. Lionel might say "good - we want you to buy new", but I'm a grown man and this (along with its now jittery and overly teen-graphics esthetic) simply keeps me off their website altogether far more often.

I'll buy new when I feel like it, thank you. And I sometimes do.

Not to get too anthropological, but it can be regarded as part of a general de-contented culture, wherein the country just becomes a big empty cardboard box.

Or it could be better next year - who knows? - but I don't see "facts" becoming important again. Anywhere.

Surprised you missed it - there have been many comments about this on several threads for over a month (including a thread about the website that's currently running). Lots of folks are upset that the older catalogs (going back to 2000 on the old website) are no longer available to view.

so what if it is something else?

we were under the impression the legacy system had a almost life time guarantee....

Howard or Mike please chime in on this....

Tried it again - this "Catalogs" reference still doesn't work to get many of catalogs to load - it brings up an error message, and then says failure to load template material, or some such. Lionel needs to properly reinstate accessibility to the older catalogs.

Used to use the "OLD" Lionel website on a regular basis - BUT NO MORE WITH THEIR MOST FRUSTRATING REVISION.

GUESS WHERE THE PRODUCT PURCHASES ARE GOING?

Menards?

Everything I tried worked.  Which catalogs won't load for you?  May be a browser issue.

You'd be better off posting your concerns and observations in the thread that the Lionel.com Site Manager has posted in.  It will probably get more attention from him there.  He joined and responded in that thread so I suspect would be more likely to see it.

Having the concerns across multiple threads, many without a titles that wouldn't catch his attention could be futile.

Good point Marty, However when the website was originally revised there was not an issue getting to the catalogs... now it looks like the website is headed down that proverbial tunnel with no light at the end of it!
