Forgive my ignorance, but I don't own any. I'm trying to buy some, but I need to find out if it says O72 on the back to help the seller identify what he has? Anyone got a stray piece they can look at?
I just looked at one and it does say "O-72 FULL CURVE" underneath. It's raised type molded as part of the plastic, along the inner part of the curve, near one end. The other end has a lot of the Lionel, Patent Pending, etc.. info .
Depending on who is looking it may be hard to see, but it is most likely there.
I am pretty sure all FT has similar markings underneath.
Thanks guys! I checked my own track and found that some straights were identified better than others, but I (currently) have only O36 curves. The seller claims the track is O72 but shows pics of O36 curves. So now that I know O72 is identified on the bottom, I just asked them to send pics before I would buy.
Interesting - the seller finally sent me a picture of the backside of the track shortly before the end of the auction.... O-36 FULL CURVE", it said. I had quit bidding at that point - I had already been beaten, and it went even higher after that. Somebody is going to be very disappointed!!!
