Since the original thread on the Lionel Mogul is closed - what is the latest, my engines have been ready to go back to Lionel but they wont issue us a pick-up tag.

Lionel received the replacement parts a few weeks ago, they don't work.
I hope this thread will stay open and hope that Lionel will let us know when we can expect to have our Moguls picked up.

J Daddy posted:Since I am a Mechanical Engineer and I really like the Everett RR Mogul. I was half tempted to pick one up at York and root cause the issue. Plus I like to fix stuff.
However, I did not see any at York that were a good buy to play with.
I considered doing the same thing but given the street price is double what I paid for my TMCC version, which works perfectly BTW, it didn't make sense.
I doubt very much the two versions have the same drive train. If that was the case Lionel could have used parts from the earlier runs. Why they changed the design only they could explain. For one thing my 2003 version uses a small Pittman motor, illustrated above, while the Legacy version uses a common Mabuchi. That shouldn't cause these issues though.

True Pete - Only one who cold tell us is someone that has popped the shell off. If there is a new motor, than the worm placement and mounting bracket would have changed as well.
The issue is the gears. Waiting for the factory to make new samples since the "fix" run did not fix the issue.
The motor bracket and gears are different than the TMCC and conventional versions.
I refuse to give up on this engine.
Dave:
the problem is that I am a Canadian dealer who imported these to sell to my customers, then I could not get an answer from Lionel if they were to issue a call tag to a Canadian address, so I imported my three engines back into the USA at the warehouse facility where they have been since middle of March and this costs me a monthly storage fee. Since Lionel wont issue the call tag as there is apparently no room at your facility to store these while you wait for the parts, you can see why I get a bit frustrated. I have faith that Lionel will fix the problem in due course. I hope you will keep us advised when we can call for the pick up tag
