Hi, any recommendations on what wire to use to rewire some old postwar things, tenders, cabooses, etc? I haven't done it in a long time. I used to use whatever was laying around, but want to do it better these days.
For stuff that moves like connections to trucks for pickup rollers, you should use what is commonly called super-flex wire, it has many really fine strands and will stand up to movement a lot better than wire with fewer strands.
I also use "Superflex" wire. It comes in a variety of styles. You might want to pick up a roll of the SW22 for general purpose use in rewiring pickups. Most parts dealers carry this wire. I like to buy my wire by the spool from Miniature Lamp Works.
