What model is Lionel's Legacy shortest diesel?

My favorite that I run on 036 track is a GP30. 

I purchased a legacy Alcoa S2 for my son. Having mostly steam engines, I was impressed with the switcher. It is nice.

One caution, ours had to go back due to broken cab mounts. Not sure but this may have been a problem with early legacy S2's.

Roger,  Have you considered a GP-35. This is available in a number of road names with Legacy and is 14 inches.  Regards, Pat B.

I think the S-2 is the shortest. I have the new GN version and like it a lot. I use 036 FastTrak, btw.

If you don't absolutely have to have Legacy and TMCC will do, Lionel's Trackmobile is by far the shortest.

It even runs on O16 SuperStreets.

I have a 2006 Lionel legacy S-2 - with fixed couplers - It is by far the shortest legacy control locomotive I seen

I was recently looking for the smallest Legacy switcher I could find - although my minimum curve is O-72, the switcher was going to be used shifting cars in my freight yard and I wanted something that took up minimal track space. The shortest I could find was the Alco S-2 switcher (I got the NYC #8504, 6-38480, from Nicholas Smith). It is 12 1/4" long and is rated for O-31. Hope this helps.
