What's the best musical Christmas boxcar?

The best one I have come across is

6-19750 Holiday Muisc Bay Window Caboose. circa 1998 I think.

It’s great if you have TMCC/Legacy.

It’s Railsounds so has better quality sound.

I only run old conventional only. Would this car still work? What songs does it play?

I believe it had a guitar version of silent night, I think possibly performed by Neil Young?

There are a few others that come to mind like the caboose Nick mentioned, but they are more TMCC  dependent (though may work in conventional, just with less control of sound), I believe.

There was a Reefer that Played Frosty the Snowman, and I think another Boxcar, but I can't find a link at the moment.

There were a bunch of other battery powered ones, but those pretty much just play all the time when turned on, I think.  (My opinion only, but I would not classify them as "best", which is what you asked. )

There are much cheaper ones listed on eBay (search on "Lionel 16776").  I only used that link because it was the first to come up when I searched by image.

The new Lionel one this year is really very nice.   Plays a selection of songs, not just one.

Yep. I just looked on eBay also. Can get them for about $50 shipped. Thanks for checking.
