Mth has a nifty chart with all the different size tires, and what engines they fit. Well most of them at least.

So what if you want to use an MTH tire on a non-MTH engine, like a K-Line for instance, since K-Line tires are not available?

There was a recent post where a member wanted to put tires on a scale K-Line mikado.

In the past I had used either 25 or 27 mm MTH tires for that exact engine, but I did not record which it was.

In doing a few size checks and measuring a few engines, it looks like any given MTH tire can be used on drivers from 1.18 to 1.35 times the tire size.

For instance a 27 mm tire seems to fit drivers from 32 to 36 mm, and a 25 mm tire fits drivers from 30-34 mm.

Anyone else got any guidelines as to sizes they have seen or used?

And yes I know we can use silicone or bullfrog snot or whatever to replace tires altogether.

Call me fussy; I prefer to stick with traction tires.
