Nothing, giving stuff away.
I'm almost done with my Holiday train shopping. And, if I don't stop soon, my savings are going to look awfully emaciated.
For me, nothing crazy.
Maybe a couple pieces of scale, steam-era rolling stock and a good, clean copy of the Postwar Lionel track cleaning car.
Hoping you guys get what you want this year!
I have 9 items on pre-order, all with October to December delivery dates. I'll be thrilled if 2 get here prior to Christmas. If not, it will give me something to look forward to January through March 😀
Cody - which starter set are you hoping to get?

Christmas came early. The Atlas Natty Boh reefers that I ordered in May 2020 from The Public Delivery Track came today.

I've got a pretty decent switching layout in HO. Kato Unitrack and power pack. It's on a very wobbly card table though. If I was going to spend heavily on model trains I'd probably make a proper train table, rather than putting the layout (pink foam over thin plywood) on something. Maybe upgrade the track to something more permanent, now that the track plan is stabilized. Sometimes I think about a second locomotive but it's really not needed, you know? No place to park it on the layout, so I'd have to use the big 0-5-0 switcher (my hand) to bring it on and off the layout.
I think this right here says it all
All I want for christmas is for all my pre-ordered items to not arrive at the same time!
Lessons in how to repair pre and post war trains.
Track. I hope Santa has the material to build me lots of track haha
Want and need ... I'd want a Kohs GG1, but there will be no trains under the tree this year other than the standard gauge loop of track I will put up.
My wife and I are doing 3 days on the Rocky Mountain Explorer and 4 days in Prestige class on the Canadian in May of next next year so that is my train budget for the most part.
More early Postwar Lionel for me. Want a matching freight car set to my 1946 726 Berkshire, would like to one of the 1945 sets with the 224. Late prewar and early postwar are always on my holiday wish lists. I am also wishing for my fold down 4x8 layout to be rebuilt before the holidays, I think I have a friend lined up that is good with wood working to help with that. AD
Actually, I'd like to have the Atlas Gunderson Maxi-IV TTX Heritage Logo and NLAL sets. All four of them...NIB. And then I want a small army of 53' Atlas containers for them...also NIB. I also want the newer Atlas Hapag-Lloyd 40' containers (3 besides the solitary one I have now would be great). I also want the Lionel Katy Heritage Locomotive NIB. I also want one of the newer Lionel Cupolacam cabooses, in working condition. I also want the full set of MTH CSX ES44AC PS2 units...NIB. I also want the MTH CSX ES44DC PS3 that I wasn't able to obtain...NIB. I also want about 6 Atlas 40' flexible 3-rail tracks and a small army of 54 and 72 turn outs.

I'm hoping to get a nice, lightly run, no problem, Williams 5200 Brass Loco with tender (but not the Crown Edition) at a reasonable price. A little too early for me to buy right now, but if you guy start sorting through stuff that you haven't run for a while, and find one of these, start thinking about Santa and me. (We don't care about minor scuffs, dings or original boxes.)
I figure I need at least one steamer on my layout. :-)

I'm planning a trip to the McCormick-Stillman Railway Park/Museum in Scottsdale, Arizona in November. I'll see what they have in the gift shop. Most likely, I'll get some books or maybe an O-Gauge train car (or two). I would like to add the new DCS WTIU to my existing layout. MTH also has a Railking BNSF 25th Anniversary ES44AC/Caboose set and maybe the BNSF 8-car boxcar set that I would buy along with the WTIU. If I get any Lionel stuff, it will probably be some rolling stock or the LCS Wi-Fi and power cable. I still want the BNSF SD70MAC Coal Train Set from earlier this year.
@Dylan the Train Man I live in Phoenix/Scottsdale and have the MTH Railking BNSF ES44AC 25th anniversary locomotive set that I will be selling soon. Email me if you are interested.
@paigetrain posted:I'm looking for anything Norfolk and Western . although i think there has only been 3 Railking N&W sets MTH has made since the early 2000s , could be wrong. I just need to check the product locator if i can get it working
Those would be nice if you're able to find one. You're right in that there weren't many N&W sets made and none for quite some time. I wish you luck in your search.

I would like to have a basement, so it can have a big layout.
But living where there is no snow is a good compromise.
Ray,

I want us all to be happy and healthy so that we will all be here next year to play with the trains.
Anything I ordered that actually gets here through the ports logjam. I did get an MTH Railking SW-1 Great Northern that arrived last month so I’m saving that to open on Christmas at this point if nothing else makes it.
I'd like someone to come help me put the Razorback Traction Co. layout back together.
Not holding my breath, tho.

Mitch - I'd like for someone to come help me finish my outstanding projects as well (Jonanthan Fant from @Scaled Automation comes to mind). Or, I'd like a new body. One that stays supercharged 18 hours a day, has superior clarity of mind, cybernetic ready (as opposed to DCC ready).
I'd like to finish my Layout Controller and Locomotive Controller designs by Christmas, including the RF links in between them. The list of To-Do's is getting short so it may happen.
For those that write software, you already know this, for those that don't -- writing software is easy and quick. Testing and debugging is what consumes the most time. In addition, to develop a product requires marketing photos, manuals, web site content creation, and advertising. What a huge effort!

I'm with Dave on this. I pre ordered some engines and rolling stock from various dealers, all with October/Nov delivery dates. Now, having been through this before, I never expected to get anything on time, but a few deliveries before Christmas would be a real treat.

Good luck! I've been forcing myself to work with the design of one schematic every evening for the past week. The problem is my mind keeps wondering to other "projects". Like last night at 1:30 I pended out the design for an Atlas O-54 double slip switch in my head. "writing software is easy and quick" Unfortunately I'll have to withhold my comment to that less I get kicked off the forum.
FYI: This (Dell Inspiron 27 Touch Screen) was to be my Layout/Locomotive Controller.
big boy25: I don't have the TIU yet. I'll keep you posted. Thanks for the offer, though. I don't know if I will get anything yet, so my list is a wishlist.

I think Frank has wished for the best present yet on this board, given the situation the entire world has been experiencing nearly the last 2 years.

i sure hope i'm around next year because ever since i started college my diet has gone to shambles and i've been having health problems both mentaly and physically. in fact i have become a severe hypochondriac and i called my doctor this morning about this weird warm and tingly feeling in my fingers and they may call me in next week to get looked at. i pray i haven't got diabetes although i passed my blood exam with flying colors last september. just my hypochondria makes me fear the worst
