Whatever happened to Chip Childs from H and L Childs and son

Curious to see if anyone has news about him. I would call H L Childs to place advance orders for newly announced catalog items and enjoyed talking with Chip. He knew the business and product and it was a pleasure speaking with him. He treated me as if I were his only customer.
