I feel your pain J Daddy, but not quite for those exact reasons.    Between a select number of goodies due in from GGD, MTH, Atlas-O, and a couple of items from Lionel -- not to mention a major layout-building project, I don't need to look at another catalog for quite some time.   Feels good though to just watch from the sidelines knowing all-too-well that said funds are already spoken for!!!

Mike Reagan at the Legacy meeting stated that his goal was to have everything in 2016 Volume 1 delivered by years end.  As for 2016 Volume 2, I doubt it.

Usually, the -2 cat either redoes the stuff in the -1, or previews what is going to happen next year.  In that case, they really should call it the 2017 ADVANCED!

On the notch6 podcast from the LCCA convention this week Mike Reagan said there would be scale SD45s in the 2016 C2 catalog in August.  Also new accessories will be in the catalog.

Mike Reagan said that Lionel would be taking a modular approach to building scale locomotives when they announced early last year that they were doing a run of SD40's. The SD38's followed in the next catalog and are supposed to be delivered in August.

The SD39, not as popular as the other SD-series engines, could be next to follow...

In that vein, the F40PH's which are in the current Signature Edition catalog could mean that GP40's and/or GP40-2's aren't that far off since they were all built on the same frame.

Legacy NYC Niagara and NYC Hudson w/PT Tender would be nice.

August 31st is the street date. We'll be right there with a new catalog show on that day. I got a few sneak peeks here in Kansas City and I think there are some neat items coming. PS the next wave of locomotives from the modular tooling are the SD45. That was announced on the show on Wednesday night

i hope to God there's a tier 4 SD70 or an MK5000C in that catalog THATS NOT BTO

Good Question Frank, with the new Lionel VL GG1 coming soon, and a few NS Diesels and Operating Crane Cars, my budget is really Tight.....However, I Always Love Looking at the New Offerings Lionel Brings to market and there may be a Way to find a few $$$$$$ to Get Something I Just Can't Live Without!!! Thanks for Posting this Important question....Enjoy.

I'd like to see a Seaboard System SD45.

I'm good with anything recent Santa Fe, standard cab Dash 8's, and high hoods, high hoods, and more high hoods.

I think I will stay with the latest mth ps3 sd45 which should be out shortly. Mth did a good job with the Premier ps2 version. I don't know how much better the Lionel version could be. Anyone know if Lionel will use the sd40-2 sound file or actually create a new sound file.
