What, The new Lionel catalog I though was very good. A lot of new items and some really fine detail.
Next is MTH, and you can get the catalog at York if you are going.
The next one will probably be the MTH 2015 Volume 1 which usually gets released during/after York in October. Atlas releases monthly supplemental catalogs announcing new releases in all scales.
As for Lionel's catalog, I thought the offerings were pretty broad, but I don't [initially] see myself ordering anything from it except a few 86-foot Excess Height box cars.
Horrible? (Expensive, yes.)
If you want to see horrible, try the Good Old Days. Compared to the Golden Age (that is, Right Now), those old catalogues look like something from East Germany.
The next catalog will come when it comes. This one was pretty good. Five items I want, three enough to have pre-ordered.
Probably MTH at the Oct. York meet will bee the next big one.
As others have said, I think Lionel had a pretty good catalog this time, a bit on the over priced side for some of the engines. They never make anything in my chosen road name anyway so it doesn't matter to me too much unless they start. They did offer many accessories that I think a lot of folks will be wanting. Some now with command control which I think is exciting. Personally I think that's a great idea and they had some great accessories in there. I hope they will have these available all the time and keep adding to them. I will definitely be ordering some of those, but as usual from the Lionel catalog, no trains.
And also as others have said, look at some catalogs from a few years back compared to now. There has never been a better time to be in O gauge trains, we really have a lot to choose from now. I am amazed by the amount of items available today.
Lionel's catalog was great! The Y6bs will be way cool and GP-30s will be strong 4 axle sellers in their large variety of road names. Plenty of nice rolling stock and accessories as well. I will be getting a Y6 for sure!
Not interested enough to preorder anything from Big L's new catalog, but it's far from "horrible". I am waiting for the next MTH catalog in October, when I hope to see the scale 44 toners in it. If they offer them in B&M/MEC/PT livery, I am in for at least a pair of them.
With the High Nose GP30's the catalog is GREAT!
