When was the last passenger train over this route after the Blue Comet? Is the line intact?

Do you mean the Central Railroad of New Jersey?
Is the line intact?
Might be part of NJ Transit now.
Yes. The Central Railroad of New Jersey. The old line to Atlantic City. A few years ago there was a plan to reactivate it for freight, specifically sand trains.
The Blue Comet was taken off sometime in the 1950's. The line itself is mostly intact, but you almost have to know it is there to find it. The last time I looked the grade crossing at Rte 206 had been paved over and I had to get out of my car to see 2 rails disappearing into the macadam. Most of the line has 30 foot trees growing from between the ties.

I worked with a fellow for 20 years who lived in Barnegat. One day not too long ago I was going to Long Beach Island and stopped for breakfast along Rt 9 in Barnegat. While eating I looked at google maps to see where my coworker lived . Turns out it was the next street. So I drove by to see if he was home. Well he lives on Memorial drive which happens to be a divided street. One way along one side of the railroad and one way on the other side. Well he didnt live there back when the Blue Comet ran. Too bad.
