I'm looking for very thin flexible wire. Not the kind that Lionel and many others use, but very fine insulated wire like they use on grain of wheat lights. Thanks for any help. Don

Miniatronics may be able to help Don as they provide all the sub-miniature components.

Their wire is very nice, it is military grade kynar they sell it in 25ft and 50ft spools here:

RC parts sites usually have 24, 26, 28 and 30 gauge wires. e.g.
I use #32 super flex from Ngineering/ Walthers
Thanks everyone. Jim, I just ordered from Evan Designs, like to help our advertisers. Thanks for the heads up. Don
Anyone have a source for the various gauges but in more colors than black, red and white? G
I bought 6 strand Phone wire in 100 foot rolls at Home Depot 6 different colors inside the cover.
I used it to rewire all my Fastrack Swirtches as well as lights on the layout.
For what it is worth I purchased a very nice 30 ga. stranded assortment from DigiTrax. The assortment had 9 differant colors in it.
Also be sure that you are buying stranded wire if using for anything that will be moved around alot. Nothing like having a nic in a piece of solid wire that breaks the minute it is bent!

I too used the Evans Designs wire. HEre is an example of the wire being used[see below!] for connecting the Evans designs LED ONe thinks they have to drill through the Lionel Plastic window insert. with the Evans Designs thin wire, the wire runs down the corner of the car [left of the window] to connect the power to the LED, thus preventing unnecessary damage to the car itself [like it's really gonna be a collector's item anyway!]
